Piney and citrus aroma. Poured with a syrupy appearance and nice head from a bottle into a glass. It is a good DIPA. Not typical west coast hop-centric IPA. Nice balance. TraumaTheDiva (5) - San Francisco, California, USA - OCT 16, 2008 does not count
This gives Hopsicle a run for its money.
Hearty, robust, bitter (which is a positive descriptor for me). Really enjoyed it, especially as a follow-up to a porter.

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2014 On tap for beer week. Aroma is malty. Distinctly English. Flavor is the same, the hops come through well but there is lots of caramel. Not very bitter. But not a bad beer either.
Rerate from the bomber, aroma is bitter, nice head and lacing. Flavor is quiet bitter in a monstrous kind of way. Better than my previous rate! Ratman197 (14852) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - NOV 25, 2012
Bomber poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of grassiness, earthiness, carmel, grapefruit and light pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of grassiness, earthiness, grapefruit, biscuit and light pine with a smooth dry bitter lingering grassy finish. hayduke (5212) - Eureka, California, USA - OCT 25, 2004
UPDATED: MAR 10, 2007 At Hops in Humboldt Micro-Brew Festival in 4 oz glass. This is an update to my previous rating which was based on a 22oz bottle from the COOP. Nice dark color with a great foamy tan long lasting head. Big powerful nose of hops with fruits. Somewhat sweet but with good hop flaver. Excellent mouthfeel with a really great finish. This was a slight improvement over my last try, and my rating is upgraded a little for the aroma. March 9. 2007. Another re-rate. Draft pour. Seems better than ever and love the fruity nose.

Appearance was clear orangish caramel with creamy off white diminishing 1 finger head, spotty lacing. Aromas are soft grapefruit, pine, orange, lemon, and resin for hops. Sweet pale, caramel malt backbone. Taste was smooth fruity hops of lemon, grapefruit, pine, orange, melon with hints of resin, the sweet malty backbone. Palate was creamy soft CO2 with meduim body, lasting soft fruity sweet malty balanced dryish finish. A not-typical west coast DIPA more of a East coast IPA... beertholomeus (1813) - California, USA - SEP 3, 2013

Gold pour from draft. Apricot flavor. Taste citrus happiness. Having this again soon bhensonb (15235) - Woodland, California, USA - MAY 25, 2013
Bomber from Monument in Concord, CA. Pours dark copper with a foamy near beige head. Lots of earthy fruit in the aroma. Mild caramel. Med body or better. Flavor is earthy with resin. Mild hop burn. Lots of hop, but it could use some fruit. Finishes dry and earthy. And somewhat astringent. boozedude (2228) - Des Moines, Iowa, USA - AUG 20, 2013
bomber into glass, clear gold color with hoppy caramel aroma, taste is lots of citrus, and good hopps, very surypy, but overall good double IPA..i likes
