3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. A reddish brown color with an off-white head. I was surprised by the double IPA designation as it seemed more like an American Strong Ale. The sweet malts came through equally with a hop profile in both the aroma and flavor. Chalk it up to being so well balanced.
RBSG grand tasting 17, bottle from Ron. Deep, rich amber pour, slight beige head. IIPA on the maltier side of the fence. raisins, caramel, plums. More big malts in the taste, slight fruity accents. A bit dry on the finish. Banksiz (154) - Sacramento, California, USA - NOV 19, 2016
Treacle-alcoholic nose with some pine and a bit of ripe banana ester as it warms up. Sweet, with burnt sugar bitterness. Heavy body with a slightly cloying sweetness. Sugars seem to be caramelized. Bitter finish with some harshness. Hops are not much in evidence. Overall, more of an imperial scotch ale than an imperial IPA, but too treacly and too sticky to be a great one. Bottle to pint. Best of the bunch from a Central Valley rating. Pine and slight citrus no range-copper and clear with minimal head. fordest (2469) - Santee/San Diego, California, USA - AUG 27, 2015

trailer. Clear copper bronze color with lasting ivory head. Nice floral, tropical fruit, pale malt aromas. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Tropical fruit, pine, floral, herbal lightly sweet flavors with a big pale malt base brew----good.
"Big display at Total Wine...supposedly fresh - never seen this particular brew before. Couldn’t tell the style from the label, just that it was hoppy. Dark pour for any ipa, odd aroma and flavor. Bread. spice, peppery pine and spruce, hoppy and bitter, but malty sweet as well. Not a favorite in the IIPA style (or for the price) but not a bad beer either." From a bottle into a snifter glass. The pour is a light brown with a white head. There’s a lot of carmel malt notes with grass and resin hop notes.Malty IPA joeneugs (6372) - Livermore, California, USA - JUL 20, 2014
On draft at Tap 25. I’ve scrolled past this one many times due to the low style rating. I’m glad I finally tried it, because I was pleasantly surprised. Kind of. It pours a dark reddish orange color with an off white head. The aroma has malt and fruit with a little toffee and strong floral hops. The flavor has more thick fruity malts with big floral bitterness. From the looks of the color of this beer, I thought it was going to be a sweet crystal malt mess, but somehow they managed to get it finishing dry which was nice. It actually ironically reminds me a bit of Bigfoot without the caramel/toffee flavors. Unfortunately, neither the hop or malt character really excite me all that much. Better than expected. badpuppy69 (322) - orange, California, USA - JUN 9, 2014
Pours a cloudy amber with a nice head. Aroma is citrucy fruit apricots upfront dominate the aroma with some slight tangerines and or Orange notes. Taste follows the aroma. With as medium to heavy mouth feel. To be honest this beer Taste like carbonated apricot juice.
