12 oz can. Dark brown with a spongy beige head. Subdued aroma of coffee, chocolate, earth and faint citrus. Nicely creamy if you sip up some head, finishing with a sharp roasty tang. Taste is spicy coffee bean and dark chocolate with hints of broiled grapefruit. Impressive; the first one went down way too easy. sloth (2896) - Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA - FEB 20, 2013
Nice tan head with fair retention and lace.Fairly black in colour. Mild nose of sweet malts and some roast. Body is medium, oily on the palate with a soft carbonation. Sweet malts, caramel and some dark fruits, coffee evades me as does the cocoa. Sweet finish, too much so, lil alcohol burn helps.12oz skinny can from statelineliquors. On draft at Nobi House .. . pours a deep ruby .. . great lacing .. . mild mouth .. . would never call this a imperial porter besides the abv burn at the end .. . decent but nothing worth seeking out

On tap at Capone’s. Poured a black color with an off white head. Vanilla, chocolate, coffee (on the lighter side), roast and some caramel. scarletfire65 (1455) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 18, 2013
Can, at home. Deep transparent brown, creamy mocha head. Aroma of fresh coffee, chocolate, oak, some booze on the nose. Super creamy palate. Rich coffee flavor, sweet chocolate, vanilla, very mild bitterness on the finish. A great dessert beer.

On tap. Pours a deep almost black with a creamy tan head. Aroma of vanilla, chocolate, roasted malt and light coffee notes. Flavor was a mix of the same. Was hoping for a bi tmore coffee and chocolate character but still well done. Want to snag some cans. kidmartinek (4999) - austin, Texas, USA - FEB 17, 2013
This beer makes a great pour, black with a 2 inch tan head. Let it air out and the head holds to 3/16". The aroma is mild coffee and cacao. Skim milf texture with a bitter coffee bite and start and a coffee dominated airy, foamy body. Deceptively mild. BrewBoxer (2632) - New York, New York, USA - FEB 17, 2013
Draft. Deep black . Nice foam surrounding the glass, some coffee beans and hops in the toasty flavor. Booze is not overly present till it warms up. Pretty good. Excited to taste the differences from the nitro can version

From the tall skinny 12oz can into a balloon tulip. Strong head off the bat, dissipates into some nice lacing and no head. Not overly malted but unfortunately there is a metallic aroma and taste. Slight bitterness of dark chocolate and coffee on the back end but not very prominent. Picked up the last 4 cans at the bottle shop. Probably trade/extra away. Just OK.

Super fresh can poured a dark cola brown in color with a coating of off white head that retained a ring on the glass. Aroma has coffee beans, dark chocolate cocoa powder (is there such a thing), light roast, and grains. Mouth feel is medium but does have a full texture. Flavor has dark bitter chocolate, grains, very light coffee, and some earthy minerals. Certainly a solid imperial porter but it is missing the big leading flavor.
