Can for almost $5. I was hyped for this to be the first Sixpoint beer that I might really like. Also, blech. Poured a dark brown with a light yellow-tan head. Nose of sweet brown ale (brown sugar, caramel malt) as well as sweet coffee. Added weird hop bitterness on the taste. Not a fan.

UPDATED: DEC 9, 2017 Can. Pours black with small beige head and soft carbonation. Aromas of coffee and dark chocolate. Flavor of chocolate and coffee with a bit of vanilla and some booziness. Medium bodied and mellow on the palate. Very nice.

Hazed dark brown color with a taller khaki colored head. Aromas of watery coffee, roasted malt and hints of alcohol. Flavors of toffee, coffee, licorice, and alcohol. Too many overbearing tendencies for me to fully enjoy this one. 8/13

Pitch black with a two finger beige head that has good retention, slowly fading into a lasting ring. Streaks of spotty lacing left behind.

Roasted dark malt aroma with lots of coffee bean character along with dry oak and dark chooclate notes. Deeply roasted gourmet coffee with toasted oak, oatmeal and dark chocolate. Subtle lactic presnce. I was expecting more coffee in the nose.

Fuller end of medium body with a dry, bitter and robust coffee presence that lingers over the dark malt profile into a bone dry finish. Some dry oak and dark chocolate flavor complimented by espresso bean and burnt toast. Subtle lactic presence and subtle sweetness balance things out. Lots of coffee flavor but not a one dimensional coffee bomb. Dry and acrid but easy to drink because the high abv is nicely masked. Not a bad beer but not very interesting either.

(can - 12 oz - 2012 vintage) Dark black pour with a thin tan head. Huge coffee and roasted malt aroma. Flavor is tons of roasted coffee with some chocolate and a very smooth roasted finish. Really held up nice. [9/12/15]

Can. Poured deep brown with a creamy khaki head. The aroma picked up sweet cocoa, coffee, and vanilla with a hint of dark fruit beneath.. just the right roast to it. The flavor found much more coffee than anything else (mostly on the sweet side).. a bit if Aspartame around.. finished sweet and roasty, with a hit of roasty astringency. Medium-bodied and creamy on the middle of the palate, with sharpness around.. one-dimensional and a hair off.

Black coffee pour with a mocha head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. Tastes like creamy coffee and chocolate. Not overly sweet. Really nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Black beer, with off white head, lots of lacing. Nose is coffee, and chocolate. Medium to heavy body, some spiciness coffee.

tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - MAY 29, 2015
Can: Dark brown, nearly back once it’s in the glass. Looks thin. Light beige head, thick & foamy on top. Aroma is coffee heavy. More sweet & creamy, not super-roasted or bitter. Dense, lots of oily beans with an undertone of alcohol pungency. Thin in the feel, like it was in the appearance. Coffee sweetness up front; dense & highly concentrated. Small undertones of char, roasted malt, burnt nuts, & some cocoa. Finishes & lingers with semisweet coffee beans. Some noticeable alcohol as it warms. Pretty nice, a little thin & one-track minded, but not bad.

Can pours cola brown with a big beige head. Aroma of coffee and sweet malt. Taste is more coffee but with a big bitter coffee finish. Decent but kind of one-dimensional.
