3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nowhere near as good as the base beer. Has a kinda generic coffee stout thing with a bit of bourbon sweetness and a cheap whiskey finish. Ebf 2014.
Pours a deep, dark brown with a nice creamy tan head which just lingers.......aroma is vanilla, oak, coffee, slight bourbon hint......taste is bourbon heavy, coffee hides in back, vanilla, perfect body for this beer, finishing with oak and slight bitterness. Well done. sinfull (1844) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - JAN 9, 2018
UPDATED: JAN 10, 2018 Dark brown with beautiful, beige head. Chocolate, vanilla, wood, toasted malt in aroma. Sweet taste with distinctive bourbon notes and mild bitterness for balance. mcberko (19805) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 8, 2018
On tap at Belmont Station, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out lots of coffee beans, bourbon barrels and a hint of cocoa underneath. Flavour is decadent, with lots of bourbon barrels upfront, followed immediately by coffee beans and moderate chocolatey sweetness. Cohesive and robust. This is excellent. Dark brown. Thin head. Has a lot of sweet choc, decent coffee. Quite sweet, chocolate malted, light coffee notes. Tastes lighter than it is, and the barrel notes don’t really emerge much. Niall73 (2459) - Ontario, CANADA - DEC 28, 2017
Tap at Engine 15. Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Fairly light aroma - coffee, dark chocolate. Medium body, medium carb. Sticky with treacle, lemon, brown sugar, coffee, dark choc. Nice.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a deep brown to light black with a full finger of beige head that lingers. Marshmallow and roasted malt nose, light whisky notes. A bit thin in the palate and finish. Alcohol, faint vanilla, lingering coffee. As it warms some cola-like carbonation comes out. Bitter coffee lingers on the finish. crajun (1273) - , Texas, USA - DEC 18, 2017
Nice porter. Baltic’s are one of my favorite styles. Good example of style. Bourbon and roasted malt in aroma nic palate. Quality. Brew wombat23 (2132) - Texas, USA - DEC 17, 2017
Shared 12 oz. can. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee notes, faint dark fruits, just a hint of whiskey. Taste is roasted malt, espresso, chocolate notes, vanilla, wood and subtle whiskey notes. Very nice. darbeer75 (1112) - Round Rock, Texas, USA - DEC 17, 2017
Aroma: rich, roasty, bourbon, vanilla; good; Appearance: pitch black with creamy offwhite head; Taste: follows nose with nice smoothness; bourbon isn't overwhelming; Palate: heavy body with long sweet finish; Overall: very enjoyable. Would be interested in trying the non bourbon barrel aged version. AWISLguy (3419) - Wisconsin, USA - DEC 12, 2017
12oz skinny can from Ray's in Tosa. BB 07/2020 date, and a note on the can that this will age well for 3 years makes one think - should've bought two. Very dark brown pour with a tan head. Aroma has chocolate, vanilla and some espresso with a bit of some berry. The espresso shows a bit more down in the glass. Taste starts with espresso, with a solid vanilla presence and some smoothing chocolate, with a bit of caramel and a bit of lactose. Unfortunately the nose does not show what will be coming in the taste. Very smooth, very tasty! The body is medium-to-full, the blend is well done and there is a touch of an alcohol presence. Finishes to the sweet side of bittersweet as the espresso does lose the fight against the vanilla/cocoa. Very nicely done! Would have been interested to have the base brew as the espresso/chocolate balance could be quite good. And ... zero percent chance this is a 'Baltic Porter'. Pure imperial porter; nothing thick salty or dark fruity about this one. 15.1
