COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sixpoint Bengali Tiger is reminiscent of the century-old English IPA. In my perspective, many current IPAs suffer from lacking substance; unbalanced by a hoppy assertiveness that is not substantiated by a strong foundation of rich malt flavors. Our interpretation uses the highest-quality, floor-malted base malt, which lends a full-bodied and rich caramel flavor. We mash at high temperatures and add generous amounts of specialty malts to further emphasize a strong foundation of malt as leverage for our generous additions of hops Which are indeed generous. We use a total of three different hop strains, and add a total of six different additions throughout the process. The Bengali Tiger has a hoppy snap upfront, but strides at a steady pace, and finishes balanced. The signature characteristic of the Tiger is the aroma we use massive quantities of whole East Kent Goldings hops to dry hop in our conditioning tanks. The result? The essential oils from the hops are an enticing treat before every sip. Notice the lacing of stripes around the pint glass as you finish your glass; its the mark of the Tiger.

On tap @ Beer Temple. This is a cloudy kinda mild amber colored one. Well, its not all that cloudy but it has a deep blur. A big lasting and quite lacing off-white head safely placed on the top. Smells nice with a good amount of birchey pine. A good amount of sweet malty goodness also here. Perhaps not the most complex aroma, but it smells nice. Piney and birchy in the taste also. At first quite mouthdrying. It has a mild oily texture in the mouth and its just above average on the carbonation. Red berries, some pine cones. It bears some resemblance of a mild double IPA I think. Really bitter aftertaste. Works well. 24.09.2015

Can at Spoons in Eastbourne (bargain at 1.99). A huge hop hit followed by a powerful bitterness at the back of the tongue,. A high %gives the beer a belgian complexion. Enjoyable.

Draft at Beer Temple. Clear golden orange with a thick white head. Aroma of grass, green hops, weeds, citrus, light fruits and light tropical notes. Flavour is above light sweet and above moderate bitter. Light medium bodied with a juicy hop palate and soft carbonation.

Puszka 330ml. Lekko metnawe o zlotym kolorze. Piana biala zanika bardzo szybko. W aromacie potezna dawka chmielowo-cytrusowa podparta karmelem ,trawa,i "ziemistymi" nutami. W smaku grejfruty i duzo albedo wspierane przez slodowo-karmelowe slodkie nuty, rodzynki, trawa, morele. Bardzo dobre

Can - labelled as the alias beer Bengali, perhaps the Australian labelled version? Hazy, yet bright gold with a small frothy white head that laces well. Caramel and bread malts dominate the aroma, with hints of earthy hops and grapefruit pith. Bitter front palate showing off the earthy hops, leading to an enormous malt bill, full of luscious caramel and bread. Finishes with a moderate grapefruit bitterness. Really great IPA made by Yanks in my preferred English style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The beer has a nice reddish amber color, one of the reddest IPAs Ive ever seen. The beer has a nice cloudiness. On top of the beer a nice soft layer of white fluffy foam is formed, collapsing quickly resulting in a thin drape. The smell is good. There are a lot of hop aromas. I smell floral and grassy hops, and some more herbal touches. It isnt that citrusy hop aroma that the majority of the IPAs have. There is also a touch of resinous hop in there. I also smell some clear malts and a touch of warming alcohol. It is in good balance. The beer is not like other IPAs. It is a bit more robust. I like the strong malty base, that forms a way more balanced beer than the sometimes hop overkill in some IPAs. The taste is also nice. Nice strong sweeter malts, very bitter hops but no astringent whatsoever. It is very well balanced. Good job. The palate is good. Medium body, slightly fuller than most IPAs thanks to the maltiness, medium high carbonation and a nice finish of adequate length containing malts at first and ending in a nice almost dry hoppy bitterness. It is something else. Good one.

On tap at Augustine in St. Paul with blonderedhead. Served in a pint glass. No real head to be found. Clear golden orange. Aroma is muted but citrus and pine resin. Taste is mostly standard IPA fare with resin and floral notes abound. Definite bitterness. Slight cloying tendency. Lingering bitterness but thin mouthfeel in general. Honestly not a very good effort. There are better balanced options out there. This tiger needs its bitterness tamed to be more drinkable.
