COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sixpoint Bengali Tiger is reminiscent of the century-old English IPA. In my perspective, many current IPAs suffer from lacking substance; unbalanced by a hoppy assertiveness that is not substantiated by a strong foundation of rich malt flavors. Our interpretation uses the highest-quality, floor-malted base malt, which lends a full-bodied and rich caramel flavor. We mash at high temperatures and add generous amounts of specialty malts to further emphasize a strong foundation of malt as leverage for our generous additions of hops Which are indeed generous. We use a total of three different hop strains, and add a total of six different additions throughout the process. The Bengali Tiger has a hoppy snap upfront, but strides at a steady pace, and finishes balanced. The signature characteristic of the Tiger is the aroma we use massive quantities of whole East Kent Goldings hops to dry hop in our conditioning tanks. The result? The essential oils from the hops are an enticing treat before every sip. Notice the lacing of stripes around the pint glass as you finish your glass; its the mark of the Tiger.

Can at Tully Shilling, Farnborough. Hoppy. Bright amber. Bright white head quickly shrinks away. Bitter. Not really more than medium but hoppy. Some caramel into the finish. However served extremely cold straight out of the fridge, which could be having an effect. Light bodied. Really slick around the back of the teeth. Light carbonation. Relatively abrupt finish. Decent enough but would try again and warmer.

Can at Wetherspoons, Birmingham Airport. Poured a crystal clear copper colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is malt, big tropical citrus fruit. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet with a crisp, fresh fruity woody hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

imagine a solid line drive, right down the middle of the fairway...thats this IPA. great aromatics, hoppy and resinous flavors, and lingering finish. not a show-stopper in any sense, but well-rounded in all respects.

UPDATED: MAR 14, 2017 Can 355ml, Wetherspoons Manchester. Pours hazy yellow. Tried this after a can of Sixpoint Resin so my hop tastebuds were slighty saturated. Clean, crisp floral, tangerine citrus and earthy hop flavour. Balanced bitterness. Caramel malt comes through abit. Not the strong grapefruit pith zest finish you get with most American IPAs, this is abit more sweet and rounded - probably a truer representation of what an Enlish India Pale Ale was many moons ago. Very enjoyable, but I preferred Resin
