3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a nice orange, copper color from a 16oz can with lingering lacing and a medium head. The aroma and flavor are full of sweet citrus. The flavor begins sweet and ends surprisingly bitter. The palate on this beer seems a little thin to me, but otherwise it is a very interesting beer that is worth checking out. The strong bitter citrus in this IPA make it stand out from the others. Went very well with my homemade chicken tikka masala.
Can (May 11, 2017 canning, just called Bengali nowadays, I guess there’s no longer a tiger in the tank). Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (grapefruit, resin), with light notes of butter and plastic. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Pretty surprising that an American brewery would use a time-tested old world hop for an IPA, even if at American quantities. It still just ends up smelling mostly grapefruity and a bit resiny in their hands, sadly, but it’s at least milder/softer here than most. Some off notes spoil it further, but overall it’s a pretty quiet, simple aroma. It works better in the mouth, where the bitterness is striking but clean, and balanced well with just enough residual sugars. Watery but pretty good for quaffing. Clean up the nose and this could be solid. dambor (688) - Berlin, GERMANY - JUN 23, 2017

Can. Pours light hazy bright orange with a large, staying creamy white head. Aroma has orange zest, grapefruit, fat red grapefruit, melon. Light passionfruit. Medium carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has good fat malts centre, doughy, fairly crisp. Good bitterness, hops are zesty, grapefruit, lemon, melon. Fine ipa.

Classy IPA, pine, resin, tropical fruity. Quite bitter while only short lasting... Spontaneum (5) - Belfast, IRELAND - MAY 29, 2017 does not count
A fine beer if ever there was one. Piney Resinous Grapefruity classic IPA. Slaps you with a quite aggressive bitterness, but smooths out after a few sips. Bright orange in hue, but clear an crisp. I would always be happy to drink it all day long. Except it will win in the end. SimonBlok (588) - GRONINGEN, NETHERLANDS - MAY 25, 2017

355ml can [as Bengali, 6.5%, 69 IBU). Slightly cloudy, golden to amber colour with average, fluffy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Piney, resinous and slightly citrusy, hoppy aroma, notes of pineapple and orange, sweaty resin notes. Taste is slightly sweet caramel and pale malty, moderate bitter hoppiness, some pine, resin, citrus, orange zest, a touch of mango; slightly mineral and chalky, bitter finish. A dark orange color with a white head. Aroma is not very strong with some orange peel, lemon, and pine. The flavor is slightly bitter with a malt profile in there. There are some oranges, lemons, and caramel present. This is certainly no hop bomb if that’s what you are looking for. Overall pretty tasty and well balanced.
