Dark copper to umber color, with a taller, stable ecru colored head. Aromas of pale to slightly toasted malts along with a citric zest hops component. Thin lightly metallic feel.
Lightly sweet, and a bit nutty in flavor. Rather bitter in the finish and linger which takes away most if not all the enjoyable qualities. Needs more body for me. A bitter, watery amber. 5/12

Tap @ Rattle N Hum: Brown color with light brown head. Aroma of bread per the description definitely there. All around great brown ale. Easy to drink with a slight ESB type finish. djd07 (14369) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAR 11, 2015
Can. Pours a cloudy brown with large tan head that lasts. The aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, and hazelnuts. Medium mouth with roasted malt, caramel and light bitter finish, good. jrodooo5 (1644) - DOVER, Delaware, USA - JUL 25, 2014
Mmm, a delightful brown! Very good deep brown pour w/ a very good tan head that leaves lacing. The aroma is subtle but provides a nice coco malt scent. The taste is similar - heavy w/ the malts upfront & then finishes a tad bitter. Exquisite mouthfeel for a brown & overall definitely one to try!

7/24/2014. From can. Dark brown with a tan head. Malty aromas with caramel, hops and dark fruit. Not overly hoppy, but with a good balance of hops and fruit. TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUN 23, 2014
Pours a nice brown color with off-white head. Roasted malt, caramel malt, chocolate, and a bit of sweetness on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes very clean for a brown ale. Busick (390) - Lake Wylie, South Carolina, USA - JUN 18, 2014
Received this in a trade and have fallen in love with this brewery. Problem is that they don’t ship to NC/SC!! Looking forward to trying their staple beers in the future! cagou007 (1156) - FRANCE - MAY 28, 2014
Pours dark amber with ruby reflects and medium tan head. Light hoppy nose. Caramel, roasted malts, biscuits and some piney hops. Medium carbonation. Long bitter and dry finish. Really good.

This beer’s 225th rating, my personal US rating #2222. Pint can and I think this one is a best before April of last year, so grains of salt. Nose is nicely hoppy with light tang and fruit, somewhat earthy, and it’s got nice, traditional Bitter overtones all around. Pours tawny red-amber, dusky with slow and average carbonation, a dense and rocky beige head that sticks. Taste is semi-dry but with significant tanginess (no infection, though). Low bitterness, light crystal malt, brown sugar and strong toasted malt character that is very nice. Generic fruitiness in the background, some citrus and very light pine, very light roast with lighter nuttiness and light toffee. Light body a bit watery but has an occasional rush of creamy air from the bulbous head. I like this a ton, and even if it’s changed its essence after a year-plus of storage, it still has really enjoyable session flavor (no alcohol here!) and would be a great substitute for a Bitter.
