Gorilla Warfare Porter is a silky smooth porter made with 40 lbs of Park Slopes Gorilla Coffee Ethiopian Yergacheffe blend, a Fair Trade and Organic Certified coffee roasted in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The coffee has winey, spicy notes with hints of bakers chocolate. Combined with patent malt, the signature of many great English-style porters, this is one silky smooth, coffee-rich porter.

Tap at Ginger Man. Very tasty, with a big coffee aroma and a nice thick body. Dry and clean. Very tasty.

750 bottle by way of goldtwins. theres at least an inch worth of clumpy yeasty sediment on the bottom of the bottle!... medium dark brown color with hints of orange/red. that is topped by a soft light brown head with great retention and lots of airy lacing. immediate aroma of wet re-washed coffee grounds followed by roast, chocolate-y malt, nuttiness, wood and lacto sourness. the flavor reminds me of espresso vanilla butter cream... milkiness mixes with mild coffee, nutty/vanilla and chocolate malt. theres also some roasty grain and light woodiness before a lightly astringent and dry finish. the coffee stays around in the aftertaste for quite a while. medium body leaning on full with a soft slick mouth feel and extremely smooth airy texture... nice solid porter! thanks larry...

On tap at the23rd best bar in the USA, the Hop Devil Grill. Nice tan head with a roasty as hell aroma. Great coffee flavor and I have no problem with the thin body I heard about.

750mL screwtop, courtesy of Ughsmash. Thanks, Jason! Pours a murky, dark chocolate color; very light tan head with fine-bubbled lacing. Basic coca, milk chocolate, and toastiness in the aroma; slightly bland; some cereal. Medium mouthfeel: basic cocoa, cereal, and wet grains upfront; some chalkiness and chocolate; basic, dry cereal. Medium finish: chocolate, cocoa, and a touch of coffee and dry cereal.

Dark brown cola looking beer with a small tan head. The nose is chocolate, brown sugar, molasses and dark fruit. Taste is moderately sweet, lightly bitter, with milk chocolate, chalk dust, caramel and raisins. Medium/Full body is spritzy and thin with moderate carbonation. Meh.

The aroma is overwhelming coffee, cream, chocolate. The appearance is jet black, light tan head. The flavor is roasted coffee, brown sugar, some chocolate. The finish is roasty bitter, light hops. The mouthfeel is creamy, the body is medium. Decent overall.

Tap at Barcade: I had just found out about the quality Park Slope coffee place, Gorilla, thanks to notalush; and then this fine Porter came out, cool! Near opaque pour with a fading tan ring for head. Huge roasted aroma. Pungent coffee which is accompanied by a slightly nutty dark chocolate hint. Thick bodied without being cloying. Flavor is straight coffee! Rich and roasted, tastes like the aroma of freshly ground dark roast beans. Also has some salty dark chocolate and a really long coffee bitter finish, with a subtle hop dryness as well. Extremely well crafted. A coffee lovers beer!

Sampled at Rattle N Hum. Too much tart fruit, potentially infected...lactic qualities accompany bitter chocolate and toffee. Cherry skin, plum, and raspberries are there as well. Distracting. Pass.

Black with a beige head. Aroma is coffee, roasty, a tad stale, earthy. Flavor packs a bitter coffee wallop. Roasted malts, burnt coffee, light smoke, earth. Good. Strong bitterness from the coffee.
