COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gorilla Warfare Porter is a silky smooth porter made with 40 lbs of Park Slope’s Gorilla Coffee Ethiopian Yergacheffe blend, a Fair Trade and Organic Certified coffee roasted in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The coffee has winey, spicy notes with hints of baker’s chocolate. Combined with patent malt, the signature of many great English-style porters, this is one silky smooth, coffee-rich porter.

Tap at Blind Tiger today. Pours black with a tan ring. Nose is huge with a big old punch of coffee. Taste shares the coffee intensity as well as the coffe choco richness in this great impy porter.

Draft at Milk Boy. Black pour. Strong foamy off-white head. Tastes like watered espresso. Hints of chocolate and dark fruit but coffee dominates. Slim aroma. Medium-bodied Porter. Good stuff but lacking gravity.

On tap at Champps in Brookfield. Dark brown pour with a beige head. Big chocolate nose with roast and caramel. Taste is of bakers chocolate, fudge and caramel. With roast showing through. Blend is well done, the body is medium-to-full and there is a bit of an alcohol presence. Finishes to the fudge-y sweet side of bittersweet. Tasty and solid for style. 14.6

Tap at Ginger Man. Very tasty, with a big coffee aroma and a nice thick body. Dry and clean. Very tasty.

750 bottle by way of goldtwins. there’s at least an inch worth of clumpy yeasty sediment on the bottom of the bottle!... medium dark brown color with hints of orange/red. that is topped by a soft light brown head with great retention and lots of airy lacing. immediate aroma of wet re-washed coffee grounds followed by roast, chocolate-y malt, nuttiness, wood and lacto sourness. the flavor reminds me of espresso vanilla butter cream... milkiness mixes with mild coffee, nutty/vanilla and chocolate malt. there’s also some roasty grain and light woodiness before a lightly astringent and dry finish. the coffee stays around in the aftertaste for quite a while. medium body leaning on full with a soft slick mouth feel and extremely smooth airy texture... nice solid porter! thanks larry...

Black pour with a thin khaki head and sticky lacing .... nice aroma of dark bakers chocolate, coffee and roasted malts .... coffee is potent in this one .... taste is of bitter dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malts very bitter and coffee like brew .... has a very bitter dark roasted dry finish with a long lingering bitterness ... the dark chocolate and coffee flavors are very solid in this brew ... has a thinner mouthfeel

On tap at the23rd best bar in the USA, the Hop Devil Grill. Nice tan head with a roasty as hell aroma. Great coffee flavor and I have no problem with the thin body I heard about.

750mL screwtop, courtesy of Ughsmash. Thanks, Jason! Pours a murky, dark chocolate color; very light tan head with fine-bubbled lacing. Basic coca, milk chocolate, and toastiness in the aroma; slightly bland; some cereal. Medium mouthfeel: basic cocoa, cereal, and wet grains upfront; some chalkiness and chocolate; basic, dry cereal. Medium finish: chocolate, cocoa, and a touch of coffee and dry cereal.

Dark brown cola looking beer with a small tan head. The nose is chocolate, brown sugar, molasses and dark fruit. Taste is moderately sweet, lightly bitter, with milk chocolate, chalk dust, caramel and raisins. Medium/Full body is spritzy and thin with moderate carbonation. Meh.
