COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gorilla Warfare Porter is a silky smooth porter made with 40 lbs of Park Slope’s Gorilla Coffee Ethiopian Yergacheffe blend, a Fair Trade and Organic Certified coffee roasted in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The coffee has winey, spicy notes with hints of baker’s chocolate. Combined with patent malt, the signature of many great English-style porters, this is one silky smooth, coffee-rich porter.

Tap at Khyber Pass in Philly. Pours deep black with a lighter beige head. Nice retention. Nose is spicy chili salsa and green peppers. Has that vegetal DMS character from the coffee adjunct unfortunately. A big pet peeve of mine. Taste is light bodied, chalky, powdery, chili salsa, green peppers. Salsa bowl. Not good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at happy gnome with commonmac and samuelito and Qponnagy and wildcard. Black with medium white head . Smoky malty roasted nose . Some peat. Malty taste, then finishes with coffee. Some booze. Mild bitterness and malt balance. Medium body. Good, but a bit different than expected.

On tap at Grizzly’s. Pours near black with a earthy dark brown head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has a good amount of coffee with bitter dark grains and strong roasted malts. Flavor has strong bitter coffee supported by strong roasted malts and dark grains.

On tap at Champps in Brookfield. Dark brown pour with a beige head. Big chocolate nose with roast and caramel. Taste is of bakers chocolate, fudge and caramel. With roast showing through. Blend is well done, the body is medium-to-full and there is a bit of an alcohol presence. Finishes to the fudge-y sweet side of bittersweet. Tasty and solid for style. 14.6

nuplastikk (6252) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 6, 2015
Tap at sidedoor. Burgundy brown body. Steady creamy off white head. Massive coffee tones, almost too much really, but really has a quality coffee feel. Full bodied. Tasty, but hard to drink a lot of.

Draft @ Laser Wolf. Dark brown, lots of coffee on the nose. The taste is coffee with some fairly smooth, lightly chocolatey dark malts. Very coffeeish but clean, roasty and pretty good.

Growler from Whole Foods Plymouth Meeting. Pours a dead black/brown color. Good amount of frothy white head. Aroma is straight coffee. Mouthfeel is lighter than what I’d expect, but then again, it is a porter, so it’s probably dead on. Little carbonation. Taste is cocoa and cold brewed coffee. cold brewed, because there is very little bitterness to it. Reminded me of a dialed down version of Speedway Stout... which is a high complement. Damn good beer.

Tobacco scent and vanilla peeks out. Coffee flavor hits right away. Chocolate is sweet and light. Dark brown/black. Tap

Intense coffee melds well with a base beer that leans towards roasty and dry. Well-made and clean but pretty simple.
