12oz pour at Smoke and Barrel. Pours a very hazy straw gold with some thick, cloudy white head. Nose is real cool, ashy burnt straw, smoked almond, some gravlax, a bit of dried lemon peel. Flavor is the same, straw, ashy hay, some sand, lemon, a bit briny too, like an oyster, more of that pricey smoked almond. Clean finish. Nice. beerbill (3619) - Laurel, New York, USA - NOV 1, 2013
On draught. Pours a very hazy pale gold with a thin white head that lasted until nearly mid-glass. Mild smoke in the aroma along with some wheat grain and citrus. The flavor is mild smoke again with ample wheat grain and some tart lemon. Dries out very quickly. The dryness lingers on the palate well after the swallow. An interesting beer to try, but I much prefer Blind Bat’s Vlad the Inhaler. jmikolich (1477) - North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA - OCT 29, 2013
Tap at Rye and Thyme, pretty decent little gose, a bit expensive at this particular bar, but the taste is spot on, hints of coriander, and a touch of tartness but not overpower, quenching and refreshing. Tmoney99 (14609) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 26, 2013
Tap sample. Poured a cloudy yellow color with an average white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Light aroma of wheat and wet wood smoke. Medium body with smooth texture and soft carbonation. Light wet wood sweet flavor with a sweet finish of short to medium duration. Interesting brew that was worth trying once. blipp (9373) - La Mesa, California, USA - SEP 8, 2013
Draft. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Lightly smoked and weaty malts, toasted grains, some faint bitterness, and a clean grainy malty finish. Clean, crisp and very drinkable. Nice.

Tap at Rattle. This is legit, god damn. Not much smoke, but dry as hell, husky, slightly citric. Grain profile is perfect. Tell someone this was a Hill saison and they’d never doubt you. j12601 (12668) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - AUG 10, 2013
Pouring at BCTC. Pours a hazy gold with a thin white head. Soft wheat, very faint smoke on the nose. Medium-bodied, bigger smoke than the nose suggested, chewy wheat. Rather one dimensional, wheat and smoke. Smoke on the finish, light and musky. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - AUG 6, 2013
draft at BCTC 2013, cloudy yellow pour, citrusy, smoked meat, lemony sourness. wierd but inviting mansquito (6493) - Nueva York, New York, USA - AUG 3, 2013
The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours a greyish yellow with a white head. Aroma is smoky wheat. Taste is lightly smoked with a slightly sour, kind of lemony taste going down. Full flavor for the low alcohol. Tasty. An acquired taste for sure though. BrewBoxer (2650) - New York, New York, USA - JUL 20, 2013
Draft at spuyten deuyvil in Brooklyn. Pours a light yellow color. East drinking like a wheat helles or small beer. Nothing great but not boring.
