COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Its been less than a year since we released our four core beers in cans, and were ecstatic to announce a new addition to the flock. This isnt a seasonal release, like the Autumnation of last fall or Diesel, still going round this winter. It isnt our upcoming spring seasonal can, either. Its a never-before-released, big beer in a slim, 12 oz. can with a potent burst of hops and as strong as an ox: Resin. We zeroed in on the botanical structure of the hop cone to get to the essence of this beer. When hops are at their peak maturity, their cores swell up with a sticky, golden, resinous substance that is the flavor you crave from an IPA. WIth an IBU of 103 and ABV of 9.1%, Resin can be loosely described as a double IPA but rarely do Sixpoint beers adhere to any strict style demands.

Canned. Pours clear golden with a small lacing, white head. Aroma of orange, grapefruit, piney notes and caramel. Sweet flavor that ends up slightly more dry and bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft to average carbonation. A very nice DIPA. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Can at home, thanks Tunga. Pours amber, white head. Aroma is caramel malts, toast, honey, earthy. Taste is pine, earthy, faint citrus, honey and caramel malty sweetness, toast. Medium body, a bit of a sticky mouthfeel, bitter. Not bad, a by heavy on the malts for my taste.

Tap @ Kromme Haring, 15 cl sample. Slight hazy golden color, short frothy head. Aroma of piney and citrussy hop, some cookie malt. Quite sharp bitterness, alcohol bite, some malty sweetness. Hmm, Im actually not impressed.

On tap at De Kromme Haring. Clear golden amber/orange colour, white head. Aroma of sweet malts, toffee, resin, pine, weed, some tropical fruits, alcohol. Flavour is malty sweet and pine bitterness, carame, tropical fruits, resin, alcohol, bitter finish. Medium bodied. A bit too much for me.

Can, 355 ml. Pours clear amber/gold with around a finger of frothy white head which doesnt stick around long. Some patchy lacing and lots of visible carb; bubbles of various sizes. Aroma is fresh, fruity and resinous. Assorted sweet tropical fruits, grapefruit, BIG pineapple, pine cones, and decent helping of spices, mainly clove. Sourdough and rye bread cut through from underneath as it warms. Well masked alcohol. Taste is initially sweet, syrupy and fruity with plenty blood orange, citrus, more assorted tropical fruits, and thick honey malt. This gives way to a hefty woody, resinous, slightly medicinal bitterness with loads of prickly spices and aromatic herbs. Alcohol is more noticeable here. Finish is strong, tarry bitterness and very long. Body is full and texture is thick and oily; coating the whole mouth. Carb is only soft to speak of but still a sharp one on the tongue from the spices and booze. Nice stuff; little bit less booze and itd be one of my top DIPAs.

Can takeaway from Tilly Shilling, Farnborough. Hops and caramel aroma - the resin innit. Light amber. Opaque. Bright white head, which dissipates all too quickly. The hop bitterness is there, certainly in the finish, but theres also sweetness and a maltyness. Light to medium bodied. Slick. A buzz from the carbonation. Long but restrained finish. Good stuff. And hides the ABV abley.

A very reliable IIPA, on the dank/caramel end of the sepctrum, a la DF 90 min. Pours the standard light orange. Aroma is bitter pith, pine resin, light tropical fruit. Taste is bitter grapefruit, lemon, sticky caramel, resin, biscuit. Good balance of bitter and sweet, excellent drinkability for the abv.

A big, fat, prickly pine cone of an DIPA, oozing with oily, clingy bitterness, layering mild grapefruit and lemon hop notes on top of a thick caramel base. Grows herbaceous as it warms, perking up with a wet green slap of hoppy boisterousness, with increasing orange marmalade on the back. Dense, with a somewhat spiky texture, yet the finish grows easy and insanely dry, spiking your tongue with a tenacious IBU-loaded fade. Probably shouldnt have tried this after indulging in a Hopslam, but its still a delicious, mean-spirited Imperial IPA.
