COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s been less than a year since we released our four core beers in cans, and we’re ecstatic to announce a new addition to the flock. This isn’t a seasonal release, like the Autumnation of last fall or Diesel, still going ’round this winter. It isn’t our upcoming spring seasonal can, either. It’s a never-before-released, big beer in a slim, 12 oz. can with a potent burst of hops and as strong as an ox: Resin. We zeroed in on the botanical structure of the hop cone to get to the essence of this beer. When hops are at their peak maturity, their cores swell up with a sticky, golden, resinous substance that is the flavor you crave from an IPA. WIth an IBU of 103 and ABV of 9.1%, Resin can be loosely described as a double IPA — but rarely do Sixpoint beers adhere to any strict style demands.

Wow, the abv is masked greatly in this brew. Not big on cans but, great poured in glass.

Can. Pours semi cloudy with a nice white head great initial lacing. Smell is Sweet malts nice citrus pop, grapefruit, resinous. Big citrus and resinous hops in the taste with sweet malts. Tilted more towards the hop side than malts though. Booze is slightly known. Quite nice.

Black Country Beano. Outbound train tasting! Thanks to Ian. Light haze on this gold beer, little white head. Palate is light and slight soft, semi dry. Light dry creamy malt. Bitter pine hops. Dash of hop spice. Nice touch of grapefruit citrus. Finishes semi dry with a medium bitter linger. Nice!

Can on the Black Country Train Tasting Part I. The pour’s deep gold with a small head. The nose is strong resinous pine. Pineapple, mango. Cake batter. The taste is somewhat boozy, slick. More pineapple. Plenty of pinecone. Strong bitterness on the finish. Full body, drinks the full ABV. Overall, OK.

Bottle. Unfiltered ipa with medium foam appearance. Smells really fresh hops. Medium mouthfeel and carbonation. Nice caramel, bitter, hop finish. Some alcohol at the very end. Overall: starts great with nice hop aroma, but a little to boozy and bitter in the very end.

Wow. An amazing beer from the marketing, can and of course product. Purchased at Total Wine in Boca Raton, FL. Tulip at home. Pours a hazy orange-light brown with a thin head. Good lacing. The aroma hits you hard with pine, citrus and earth smells. It smells like...well hop resin. The first taste made my taste buds shutter. It is powerful hops, no doubt. Pine, citrus, freshness, balanced well by the malts. Smooth, medium body with a bitter finish. It masked the ABV well. I didn’t realize it was in the 9% range until I read the description later. Very good beer.

12oz can poured into a tumbler. Cloudy light amber with a decent off white head. Pure piney nose, with some bitter citrus peels and tropical notes. Juicy hop flavors, with enough maltiness, peels and high bitterness. Full bodied, flavorful, chewy, and quite satisfying.
