Its been less than a year since we released our four core beers in cans, and were ecstatic to announce a new addition to the flock. This isnt a seasonal release, like the Autumnation of last fall or Diesel, still going round this winter. It isnt our upcoming spring seasonal can, either. Its a never-before-released, big beer in a slim, 12 oz. can with a potent burst of hops and as strong as an ox: Resin. We zeroed in on the botanical structure of the hop cone to get to the essence of this beer. When hops are at their peak maturity, their cores swell up with a sticky, golden, resinous substance that is the flavor you crave from an IPA. WIth an IBU of 103 and ABV of 9.1%, Resin can be loosely described as a double IPA but rarely do Sixpoint beers adhere to any strict style demands.

Massive resinous hop aroma - huge sweet caramel malt palate then the hops kick in - enormously bitter - I like that, but too sweet for perfect marks. A great ale.

Can at Wibbas Down (JDW), Wimbledon in Jan 2017 - Clear Orangey Gold in colour. Good creamy off-white head. Excellent lacing. Very Hoppy; intense piney resinous hops, good hop bite, nice hop bitterness. Very Fruity; juicy grapefruit citrus, tangerine, rind. Spicy. Malty backbone, toasty malts, caramel. Alcohol not noticeable. Bitter hoppy citrus fruity throughout. Quite dry. Very Nice Impy IPA! (2017-01)

Pours a nice mostly clear amber color with a medium sized cream color head that left some nice lacing around the pint glass. The aroma is not as hoppy as you would expect but as it warms you really pick up the dankness, the citrus, and pine cone. The flavor is also more mild than expected but probably due to the nice balanced of the malts. The hop and pine presence is there but once again the malts truly balance them out. This is a very high quality beer I would definitely recommend. The mouth feel is medium and it drinks fairly easy but would have to be careful with the 9.1 abv.

Canned. Pours clear golden with a small lacing, white head. Aroma of orange, grapefruit, piney notes and caramel. Sweet flavor that ends up slightly more dry and bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft to average carbonation. A very nice DIPA. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Can at home, thanks Tunga. Pours amber, white head. Aroma is caramel malts, toast, honey, earthy. Taste is pine, earthy, faint citrus, honey and caramel malty sweetness, toast. Medium body, a bit of a sticky mouthfeel, bitter. Not bad, a by heavy on the malts for my taste.
