Its been less than a year since we released our four core beers in cans, and were ecstatic to announce a new addition to the flock. This isnt a seasonal release, like the Autumnation of last fall or Diesel, still going round this winter. It isnt our upcoming spring seasonal can, either. Its a never-before-released, big beer in a slim, 12 oz. can with a potent burst of hops and as strong as an ox: Resin. We zeroed in on the botanical structure of the hop cone to get to the essence of this beer. When hops are at their peak maturity, their cores swell up with a sticky, golden, resinous substance that is the flavor you crave from an IPA. WIth an IBU of 103 and ABV of 9.1%, Resin can be loosely described as a double IPA but rarely do Sixpoint beers adhere to any strict style demands.

Big hop aromas with lots of pine, earthy and herbal notes. Not for beginners, big hop flavor and the abv comes through in the body of this one in a way that makes me wanna say you could cellar a bottle of this for a year or two and that would do it some good. Crisp bitter finish decent beer.

355ml Can from The Sanderling, Glasgow Airport (5.25):
Solid stuff from Sixpoint here, this one was a hop bomb with tonnes of pine & grapefruit bitterness in the early going before some tropical fruits & citrus flavours started to come through & level things out slightly. The alcohol was well hidden & only really made an appearance right at the end alongside some of the sweet malts & caramel that also helped with the balance of the beer. It was a relatively easy one to drink despite its strength & the only slight negative was that the nose could have perhaps been a little more pronounced but overall it was an excellent beer with a lot of flavour & its definitely one Ill try again at some point.

Can. A- Dank, grass, pine. A- Copper color, clear liquid, white head. T- Extreme bitterness, pine, subtle caramel, grass, dank. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, very bitter finish. O- I wanted to like this one but did not in the slightest, however, I really appreciated it. This is a huge beer. Very bitter while still maintaining flavor and keeping the alcohol very well hidden. Maybe my favorite part of this beer was the can. Hopheads will go nuts over this, me on the other hand, at least appreciates it for what it is.

Hazy golden/amber, medium cream head and good lacing. Beautiful hoppy aroma of tropical fruits, resin and biscuit. Taste offers same: strong in malts but well balanced by hoppy flavours. Alcohol very well hidden, a very rich tasty, full bodied, excellent imperial IPA!

Tasty, with a decent amount of hoppiness. Let down slightly by being overfizzed. Pretty good nonetheless.

This DIPA comes in a sleek can design. Looks nice on the pour but dear me it?s bitter. 9.1 though so a few of these and you?re easily pissed. Gets you where you want to be in a bit of a hurry so that?s a mahooosive thumbs up from me if you?re wanting to get wankered quickly. Overall an impressive bit of kit and a bargain at wetherespoons.
