COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s been less than a year since we released our four core beers in cans, and we’re ecstatic to announce a new addition to the flock. This isn’t a seasonal release, like the Autumnation of last fall or Diesel, still going ’round this winter. It isn’t our upcoming spring seasonal can, either. It’s a never-before-released, big beer in a slim, 12 oz. can with a potent burst of hops and as strong as an ox: Resin. We zeroed in on the botanical structure of the hop cone to get to the essence of this beer. When hops are at their peak maturity, their cores swell up with a sticky, golden, resinous substance that is the flavor you crave from an IPA. WIth an IBU of 103 and ABV of 9.1%, Resin can be loosely described as a double IPA — but rarely do Sixpoint beers adhere to any strict style demands.

Crystal clear golden copper with a small lasting head. The aroma is sweet, toasted malt and lots of resinous, spicy, citrusy hops. The hops remind me of Summit, with strong toasted finish of Marris Otter or maybe dark munich malt. Tastes darker and toastier than it looks in any case. Very bitter and very good. Worth picking up.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at New Seasons in Beaverton, OR. Beautiful hazy orange pour with a one-finger white head. Lovely clear aroma of fruits and resin. Flavor is nicely matched to aroma, but overpowered by an intense booziness. Medium oily mouthfeel and nice bitterness. I would love this if it weren’t so hot.

This is a fine, drinkable DIPA that lives up its namesake. The aroma is dank and resinous, oozing hop nastiness, and the appearance is a nice, slightly cloudy yellow haze. The taste is sharp, slightly bitter hops with a lingering splooge of Blaisian smoke bombs. It hides it’s 9.1%abv well, goes down like more of a 7%er. Good for banging some Carly Rae Jepsen on repeat while lamenting the lack of good Carly Rae Jepsen t-shirt options for sale online. Maybe we need to make our own?

Draft at Bottle Revolution rdu. Good aroma, strong on pine, hints of citrus, orange mainly. Clean golden orange color, good head, faded to a ring, ok lace. Fairly bitter, lightly sweet flavor. Heavy body, thick creamy oily mouthfeel, fairly bitter/harsh finish. It’s good for an IIPA, kind of hot. Surprised by the head and lace as usually I find these big Beer lack them. Little short of great, but solid enough

Had loads of this in wetherspoons but not got round to rating it. Very alcoholic. Very tasty. Last time I drank this I fell asleep in a chair. I’ve got to meet the missus in 10 minutes though so hopefully not the same effect. Good stuff.
