COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Sixpoint Spice of Life series is a celebration of one of the most popular but obscure plants on the planet - the hop. In this series, we release a new iteration of the same recipe every month- a total of 12 iterations per year. The recipe is for a straightforward American style IPA- brewed with only two different malts, a single hop varietal, and is fermented dry to accentuate hop flavor and aroma. We brew the exact same recipe every time with one interesting catch- each time we switch the hop strain. This method of adjusting one variable is called a "controlled experiment." But more important, it allows you to appreciate exactly how a different strain of hops can influence the flavor and aroma of beer!

Pours a hazy golden color with a medium creamy white head...nice lacing. Aroma has nice sitrus and stonefruits...just a hint of a buttery note. Flavor has mango and peach...a bit of spicy grapefruit...faint butter. Mouthfeel is light/medium and lively with a bitter/spicy citrus finish.

Growler. Pours a hazy gold with a moderate linen white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Very pleasant aroma of fruity grapefruit, quite strong. Some notes of pine and sweet malt present as well, but clearly dominated by grapefruit. The flavor falls back a bit with malt with a touch of sweetness followed by a wash of borderline harsh hops bitterness. A bit too much for me. I popped a few Tums later as this beer gave me heartburn. Medium bodied.

Lukaduke (3206) - Gray, Maine, USA - JUL 29, 2014
Draft at Salvage BBQ, Pours a deep golden color with two fingers of white sticky foam. Nose is toasted malt, some light hop tropical fruit presence, stale grass and a hint of earthy spice. Palate follows with some citra influence but a heavier malt profile than i was hoping for. Nice balance of hop flavors bitterness and toasted malt but was hoping for more of a citra bomb and it just seems a bit light handed and stale.

Light, refreshing. Good hops and flavor. A tiny bit hazy for an unfiltered look. Amber color. Tap.

Pours light gold with very thick haze that doesn’t seem to dissipate. Aroma is fruity with grapefruit up front. Taste is light bitter with fruity finish.

lachrymalisis (441) - Washington, USA - MAR 20, 2012
Seriously hazy, golden-orange pour, with big sticky white head. Not a sticky beer, mind you. Aromas of crisp citrus and grassy earth, followd by wheaty-cereal. Flavors are light and crisp with citrus and floral-earthiness coming out front with moderate bitterness. Finishes with an incredibly transparent cereal-grain flavor that is beautiful. Crisp and light body, medium-dry finish. really enjoyable and refreshing.

DrinkinWell (389) - - JUL 21, 2014
Pours a dull clear gold with frothy head and lacing. Floral, herbal aromas. Crisp bitterness, sweet citrus, hints of lemon flavors. A really nice, drinkable ale
