[2391-20090801] Sample. Mild barbecued pineapple yeast aroma. Hazy, light orange brown body with a long-lasting foamy white head and some lacing. Odd boozy yeast flavour has tons of roasted pineapple. Full body. Odd yeast characteristics.

2009-08-01. Hazy golden pastel yello body with a huge foamy off-white head. Aroma is lightly yeasty with just a bit of hops, pale malts. (6+) Flavour is fairly dry, sweet malt middle with dry alcohol in the finish. Something fruity/odd for a moment. Smooth average palate, pleasant carbonation. Decent. My last beer of the official sampling session. On tap at BCTC 2009 WeeHeavySD (3387) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 5, 2009
Tap at Blind tiger today during the sixpoint event. Pours orange with a bright white ring. Nose was sweet and relativly indescript. Taste was full of citrus, completely full of it, and thats the damn kind of trip, I like, tripels can get too far into the bullshit unsavory variety and this doesnt and I’m glad about that. Tap at Barcade: (Sixpoint’s 4th Anniversery Party) Golden, slightly hazy pour. Sweet aroma- honey suckle, candi sugar and mild phenols. A bit slick on the palate. Sweet flavor as well with notes of honey, graham cracker, a touch of wild flower and peppery bitterness/alcohol on the back. A bit too sweet, covers up and of the yeast nuance (if there is any). puzzl (3260) - New York, New York, USA - FEB 18, 2009
Tap at Barcade. Very bubblegummy aroma, something acrid in there, like turpentine, that is really blocking most of the other aromas. Maybe a touch of peach. Sweet, gritty, full bodied. Lots more bubblegum flavor. Very American interpretation of the style, which basically means way, way too sweet. Add some sugar to get the ABV up and lower the OG and this might actually begin to taste Belgian. And use a good yeast.

Another beer from Larry (Goldtwins) in a 750 ML bottle: Smallish, lasting white head on a lightly hazed, deeply golden body. Smells like a tripel. Grainy and DMS cornlike malt character with a mild floral hop and peppery, fruity yeast. Some mild green apple, hints of juicy fruit gum, and toasty malt as it warms. Flavor is much the same with a lingering pleasant bitterness. Lightly sweet up front, but dries out quickly with toasty and grainy malt in the finish accompanied by some herbal and floral hops. Yeasty flavor is light compared to aroma, but still present. Aftertaste is lingering bitterness, fruity esters, and floral hop. Medium CO2, dry m/f, lighter body, almost chalky, with decently well hidden alcohol. A pretty decent tripel! 2nd beer from Sixpoint, and I’m becoming impressed. Very nicely complex, "lighter" beer, and very drinkable. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - APR 28, 2008
Thanks go to Larry for the growler! Poured brilliant orangey-golden with a thin layer of off-white head that didn’t stick around for long. The aroma was rich and deep with layers of pepper and clovey spices, honey, hibiscus, caramel, and sliced pears.. alcohol amplified, and all the elements blended seamlessly. Zesty pepper and floral bitterness struck the tongue first with warm, spice-accented maltage cascading afterward (I got a lot of honey and paler malts here).. peppery alcohol rises through the finish deaving a dry, lengthy impression. Dry and crisp on the palate with nice balance between the biting alcohol-infused spices and a well-chosed sweet base.. heavier-bodied with lower, small-bubbled carbonation. I really enjoyed this! 1/2 growler courtesy of Goldtwins. Pours gold with a thin white head. Smells of ginger, dry malt, sugar, roses, some spice, pepper, touches of citrus. Tastes dry with a nice peppery bite. Some spicy elements emerge as the beer warms. Mouthfeel is crisp. Finish is dry and yields some mild alcohol warmth. Enjoyable. goldtwins (4320) - Nesconset, New York, USA - MAR 21, 2008
Growler. Poured a hazy gold color with a hint of orange and an off-white head. The aroma had a fair amount of Belgian yeasty spice and biscuit sweet malt. Malty start to the flavor with spice in the middle. Medium bodied with some warmth. TBone (18106) - Pori, FINLAND - MAR 12, 2008

Hazy golden color, small white head. Fruity nose - some exotic fruits like carambola and lychee in the aroma. Very American-style tripel with lots of fruity yeastyness (mango, apricot). Medium-bodied. Nice alcoholic kick in the finish. Fireplace tripel. Just not too complex to get high 3’s.
