The aroma is bread, fruity, sweet, boozy. The appearance is opaque red/gold, white head. The flavor is like the aroma, sweet and boozy, notes of bread, fruit. The finish is a booze burn, pine needles. Medium in body, slightly on the thick side, oily mouthfeel. Quite good. Really like a barley wine more than anything else. blipp (9502) - La Mesa, California, USA - OCT 25, 2012
Draft. Pours golden amber with a beige head. Flowery and citric hops, sweet malts, lighter grassy notes, and a lingering bitter finish. Pretty good. zdk (1917) - New York, New York, USA - OCT 18, 2012
tap @ barcade: I am the ’zack’ referred to in Daddy’s rating. Sweet & creamy caramel. Sugary candy cane. Boozy heat at finish. actually pretty well balanced and booze is subdued for 13%. jredmond (8445) - New York, New York, USA - OCT 18, 2012
Draft at barcade with max, zack, pearl, blipp, and Tom. Pours a bright hazy orange with light white lacing. Aroma is super fresh line hops and light sweet barley. Mouthfeel is creamy with notes of restrained pine hops. Very take for 13%. Lukaduke (3206) - Gray, Maine, USA - OCT 12, 2012
Poured a slightly hazy medium golden color with some good sticky foam. Aromas are mixture between honeyed malts, sweet caramel and a hint of citrus peeks through. On the palate it holds its own with a nice balnce between sweet floral malts and tight citrus flavors to clean up the finish and keep the heavy honeyed undertones in check. Cant believe its 12.8%... would have expected in the 7-9% range. Nice Beer.

Pretty sweet and a lot of action... Dark orange/amber with nice head. Plenty of hops. Slipstream (2663) - USA - NOV 21, 2011
On tap at The Pony Bar. So one of the Beer Advocate guys was involved in this, eh? Hmmm.... Complex, rich, punchy, boozy, with plenty of smoke, hops, and sugars. It hides the high ABV well, and waves of flavors pass along the palate. There is a bit of citrus in the warming finish. The aroma is light and citrusy at first, and then a floral perfume reveals itself as it warms. Deceptive - and very good! glennmastrange (2897) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - JUN 21, 2011
Tap. Moderate roasted and caramel aromas for the malt, moderate to heavy pine and herbs for the hops, moderate soap for the yeast, with notes of pepper, melon and a hint of dark dried fruit. Head is average size, frothy, off-white with good lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is hazy amber/orange. Flavor starts lightly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes moderately acidic and bitter. Palate is medium, oily with a soft carbonation and a lightly astringent finish. More tart than I expected from the style, but everything else is true to an American Strong Ale with over the top flavors and aromas. BrewBoxer (2653) - New York, New York, USA - MAY 15, 2011
Tap. Lihjt tan color. Cloudy. Nice hjead. Hoppy like a double ipa, but strong like a barley wine. Really good, but too mich Jow (3995) - New York, New York, USA - APR 2, 2011
