Dark pour with a small head, fades fast. Aroma has roasted malts, some char, chocolate and bourbon. Flavor is sweet and a little burnt lingering with strong bourbon. A little thin but not bad. Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - APR 18, 2010
Bierkraft bomber shared by jw77 at RBWG Hunahpu release 2010 ccb tasting. Pours a clear deep brownish- not really black but a beige head and some nice lace. Aroma is thick sweet honey, mixed with bourbon, whiskey, alcohol, woody, oak, vanilla, toast, burnt char, sweet buttery chocolate, and nice roast. Flavor is roast upfront wiht some chocolate as well- bourbon heat in the middle with vanilla and toasted oak, some char, coffee, alcohol, some solvent as it warms and pretty boozy actually. drowland (8766) - Georgia, USA - APR 7, 2010
Courtesy JW77 at RBWG 2010! Nice chocolate, but compared to some of the other BAs I’ve had, this really doesn’t do much for me! Beerlando (3342) - Orlando, Florida, USA - APR 7, 2010
Growler, courtesy JW77. Pours a deep, dark mahogany color, showing a swirly, hazy body. A small head of dark khaki foam crowns the surface. Sudsy lacing mostly rejoins the body. The nose is probably best described as odd, showing notes of oaky, bone dry wood and dried out nougat, hinting at cocoa and some papery, oxidized dark fruit notes. Flavors are lacking, centered on soft cocoa and dried up caramel, with a warm vanilla bourbon component and an overly oaked, woody overtone. The palate too is a letdown, drinking more like a weak brown ale than a stout and sporting moderate carbonation that finishes semi-dry and slightly oxidized. Eh....not very good.

Growler… RBWG ‘10… Pours a murky dark brown with a small, fat-bubbled, beige head. The bouquet offers cannabis and dark malts alongside cereal grains and rumors of whiskey and oak. Medium-bodied with tired carbonation. The flavor is very roasty. Medium sweet; moderately bitter. Like the nose, not much whiskey detected here. Toasted, wooden finish with lingering bitterness.
