Clearish black with no head after about 5 seconds. Quite a nice aroma of smokey chocolate, a slight peppery chili vegetal heat, and slightly burnt toast. Flavor is nice and smooth with very fine carbonation and a balanced body. Flavor starts with some bittersweet dark chocolate, toast, caramel, and roasted chilis that lie kinda quiet and just accent the beer without dominating the sweetness. Slight cinnamon tone throughout. Found this quite lovely. arminjewell (9688) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - NOV 5, 2012
Pour out of can, dark black pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of big chili, chocolate, nice cinnamon, earth, some coffee, toffee, sweet cocoa, nice balance overall. Taste is nice, a little watery, but nice chocolate, coffee, hints of chili and pepper notes, some cinnamon, toffee, finishing fairly sweet, bitter, and dry, with a slight hint of heat. This works fairly well. 3fourths (9349) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 15, 2012
can. dark brown body, small dirty brown head. nose is almost entirely nutmeg and pumpkin spice with only a small bit of dark chcocolate dark malt. oily and syruoy with soy sauce / ink black malt, flabby, thin texture, low carbonation and starchy, husky pumpkin spice powder. very low chile presence. I made a foreign stout with chiles for my fifth batch of homebrew, it was better than this, and i am a terrible brewer. gyllenbock (9314) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 20, 2012
Bottle from Systembolaget.
Almost black with no head. A lot of spices in this one, ginger and some cinnamon. Also pepper, licorice, ash and chili. A lot of carbonation. A strange beer, hard to rate.

Can pours deep amber with a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up some dark roasted malts, molasses covered cinnamon graham cracker and then a nice level of chili pepper. The taste delivers dark roasted malts, some sweet molasses and a sense of cinnamon. It gets to a modest degree of chili pepper taste and heat heading into the finish. Pretty nice.

(Bottle) Black colour with quickly disappearing, foamy head. Malty, spicy nose with notes of black coffee, cocoa, dark chocolate, chilli, ginger, dark fruit and dark chocolate. Malty, spicy taste with cocoa, black coffee, ashes, liquorice, ginger, chilli and a spicy finish with a balanced roasty bitterness. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Quite sharp carbonation. Strange beer, behaves and tastes like a soft drink with chilli, ginger and cocoa. Lots of flavours, but quite unbalanced and a bit artificial. Weird, hardly and success, but still quite drinkable. Draught at Freshcraft. Chocolate and fall spices like anything you get in pumpkin beer. Also strong hints of the chilies. Cunningham (8077) - Halden, NORWAY - MAR 9, 2013

Appearance: Black color with a lively bubbly beige head that fast vanish.
Aroma: Roasted malt and spicy.
Palate: Medium body. Moderate sweet, and a moderate bitterness. Soft carbonation. Dry texture.
Taste: Balanced sweetness, fruity and spicy (ginger, cinnamon, vanilla).
Overall impression: Complex and tasty ale.
Personal stats: Bottle from Systembolaget in Uddevalla, Sweden.
Bottle. Dark brown colour with a small tan head. Aroma that I guess can be called spicy if you really stretch it. Flavour is not nice. I do love spiciness and chili and had some hopes for this beer. It didn’t live up to them, or to anything else for that matter. Really disappointed.
