Pours very dark, medium head. Smooth, rich nut brown ale. Slight coffee/coacoa aftertaste. Frozer (240) - Illinois, USA - OCT 9, 2014
Bottle to pint glass. Not much head. Clear brown. Nutty and coffee nose. Nice hazelnut flavor. Finish is not as smooth as other nut Browns I’ve had. Medium body easy to drink. slowrunner77 (12594) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 23, 2014
"Bottle-from memory, this one is lacking. Having only had the hoperandi, which is pretty damn good, before this one, I had high hopes. The nuttiness is there as is lightly roasted malts and a little chocolate. All the right pArts, but it just doesn’t come Together as well - a little boring" brokensail (16633) - Dublin, California, USA - SEP 19, 2014
On tap @ Provisions Market. Light brown pour with a small khaki head. Chocolate syrup and club soda on the nose. Yum... Light roast, some coffee grounds, and maybe some toffee. Flavor is basically like a soda. Very watery, though... Carbonic. Some roast, coffee grounds, dirt, and a bit of toffee sweetness. Some walnuts and cocoa powder. Meh. skmikeg (1826) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 22, 2014
Pours a light chestnut brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is of toasted malts, caramel, nutty malts, light coco, and some light hops. Taste is about the same as the aroma. Has a medium body with a semi watery mouthfeel and a mostly sweet, medium-short finish. Overall, a rather lackluster brown ale from a brewery I expected more from,

Flight at bottlecraft. Dark amber with a light head. Malty and roasty. Pretty light. andyhwcinc (1884) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 8, 2014
Purchased at Binny’s in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home recovering from frustrating work. Meh, this isn’t very good. Appearance is a syrupy dark brown, relatively clear, not much head. Aroma of chocolate malt and caramel. Taste is more syrupy than anything, moderate carbonation, like a light chocolate soda, it’s just not very good. malty but thin, nice color and easy to drink. better colder than when warm. almost a brown lager IMO. Brouwerij (959) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 12, 2014
Bottle. Pours red brown with quickly settling tan head, almost no lace. Aroma is toasted, nutty, toffee/caramel malt, sweet. Flavor is mild malt, toasted, toffee, with a sweet fruity finish, nutty malt aftertaste. Aroma is mild on malt, flavor is even milder. Soft carbonation, light body. Mild.

Cracked this rude boy open out of a standard 12 oz bottle. Pours out a dark copper brown. Very slight sweet malt aroma on this one. The taste is standard for a nut brown. A lot of malt right away with a little hops to finish it. But really not a great finish with this beer. Once you swallow it the taste is gone. That’s it. It doesn’t linger leaving you wanting more. Very light and not much to it. If you love Browns, you could slam a bunch of these jokers. But that would be all they’d be good for. Slamming. Not a great beer. I’ll be skanking away from this one in the future. IMO son.
