Pours a boring brown with absolutely no head. aroma is nutty and not much else. taste is malty, but watery, with kind of a weird sour fruity aftertaste. Danyel (1606) - Colorado, USA - JUL 24, 2013
Bottle. Pours dark brown with tan head. Smells chocolatey, roasty. Tastes watery, malty, slight roasty. Really boring and watery. UncleKorm (1319) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - JUN 29, 2013
Bottle poured a clear brown hue w/ small quickly and fully diminishing head. Subtle sweet malty aroma. Initial flavor is moderate sweet w/ a light acidic finish. Tastes are chocolate, tannins, bread, and lightly roasted malt. Light to medium bodied, dry texture, soft carbonation. rumproasts (5359) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUN 16, 2013
bottle. Brown with small head. Pretty generic brown ale with light nuttiness. Pleasant flavor, but nothing really distinctive. Foxbush (2029) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JUN 9, 2013
Draft at Coasters in Elizabeth City, NC The ale poured a deep brown color with a small head but lacing down the glass. The aroma was of toasted malts with a hint of sweetness. The texture was smooth with average carbonation,. There was a metalic or iron taste to the ale. The finish had some nutty sweetness.

Maybe it's just because I tweaked my back and this is acting as "medicine", but I think I like this more than any brown I've had in a long time. Great caramel flavor without being too sweet.

Clear dark brown beer, little pale tan head. Smooth dry palate with fine carbonation. Lactose dry malt, little cream. Slightly tangy fruits and a trace of coffee and indeed some nuts! Smooth dry finish. Not bad.
Medium to dark brown pour with a 1 finger, creamy, off white head that has decent retention and leaves decent lacing. Nutty, herbal, pine and light citrus aroma. Flavor is oily nutty sweetness up front, earthy wood, cereal, dark caramel, spice and hints of pine and herbal hops and roast to the finish. Medium body, with a sticky, but slick feel and light carbonation. Not bad, but it’s a little boozy (especially for 5.15%ABV and bland other than a vague nuttiness, I really had to search for other tasting notes. Still, I could knock back a couple without complaining. theisti (4126) - Kansas, USA - APR 11, 2013
12 oz bottle that was part of the Winter 2012 World Market 9 pack, courtesy of my in-laws. "Bottled on" is unmarked / un-notched on the label. The pour is mostly dark brown with some copper highlights. The 1/2 inch light tan head falls quickly. The aroma is nutty malt, a bit of maple sweet and then a somewhat dirty earthiness. The taste is is the syrup sweet malt up front, then the nuttiness, than the earthiness that shows a hint of roast as well as the dirt. The after taste goes back to caramel maple sweet. The palate is medium to light bodied, below average carbonation and the sweet finish. Not terrible, though I prefer a less sweet brown ale.
