COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Brown Ale has a touch of nuttiness provided by our good friends Mr. and Mrs. Victory and Munich Malt. The addition of Northern Brewer, Cascade, and Willamette hops smooth this beer out to create an incredibly drinkable Brown Ale.

Nut Brown? You’re nuts! Poured ok, looked like any other brown ale. A slight skunk in the nose, and a tangy flavor. No complexity and no nuts.

Pours a modest brown color with some large chunks of yeast and heavy haze with a cream colored dense head. Aroma has a faint nutty malt note and a mild apple note are pretty much all that come through. Flavor has a strong yeastiness with some mild esters and a low nutty presence. Body is light, higher carbonation and nice lacing from the well retained head. Overall the flavor and aroma are pretty lack luster and not anything I would pick up again.

Earl grey brown color with a disappearing tan head. Nuts, slight coffee, tea and a note of smoke in the aroma. Flavor is so benign and blah. Maybe a hint of malt and nuts...but not much else.

12 oz bottle thanks to 17thfloor, apparently a bottle from Sept 2008, so pretty damn old. Pours dark brown with a huge billowy beige head. Aroma of cocoa, nutty with some toffee and dark fruits. Flavor follows suit, a but more of a roastiness, mostly in the finish with some nutty notes and caramel. Slight metallic flavors that linger with the cocoa and roast. Light medium to medium body and a sharp carbonation. Interesting, never had a regular 5 percent beer aged like that.

Purchased at Binny’s in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home recovering from frustrating work. Meh, this isn’t very good. Appearance is a syrupy dark brown, relatively clear, not much head. Aroma of chocolate malt and caramel. Taste is more syrupy than anything, moderate carbonation, like a light chocolate soda, it’s just not very good.

On tap @ Provisions Market. Light brown pour with a small khaki head. Chocolate syrup and club soda on the nose. Yum... Light roast, some coffee grounds, and maybe some toffee. Flavor is basically like a soda. Very watery, though... Carbonic. Some roast, coffee grounds, dirt, and a bit of toffee sweetness. Some walnuts and cocoa powder. Meh.

Bottle. A- Blood, iron, watery, dough, malty. A- Rich mahogany color, clear liquid, tan head. T- Dough, watery, malty, weak. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, malty finish. O- This one smelled like a ball of dough that someone was baking then sliced their finger and bled into the batter. Besides this it felt like an all around run of the mill brown. Pretty generic.

Ernest (7793) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 29, 2003
Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is dark brown. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, roasted nuts), lightly hoppy (flowers). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, heavily bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, metallic. Poor metallic aftertaste, unbalanced flavor, simple boring aroma, trademark tiny SKA head, ultimately soulless...these guys really need to work on their chops.

in the bottle. looks like a coca-cola. not much a head, what’s there has big bubbles and dies quickly. Aroma of diacyl. finishes with a little bit of a tongue bitterness. Medium carbonation. Overbearing chalky flavor. This style of beer seems to consistently for people who want to drink a beer of style and distinction, but don’t have the tastebuds for it.

Terminus (3711) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - FEB 13, 2005
bottle-pours a crimson amber hue with a small white head. aroma of carmel, toffee, and honey roasted cashews. The flavors were terrible-wet carboard and sourness. tastes like the malts and hops were old when this beer was brewed. body was thin and flimsy like most ska beers. probably the worst beer i have had from this brewery. Squidget must have got a good bottle of this (fresh?)
