(Can) Black colour with dense, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, treacle, black rye bread, dark chocolate and dried fruit. Malty, roasted taste with sweet black coffee, black rye bread, soy sauce, dark chocolate, brown sugar and a generous roasted bitterness in the finish. Can’t really detect much of the grapes, possibly a touch coming through towards the end. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Complex but still quite well balanced and tasty. Nice one. 12 oz can. Poured a black with a thin khaki top. Taste of cocoa, roasted malt, vanallia, and sweet. Medium carbonation, thick body. Very complex brew!

Can. Pours an opaque brown-black with hints of red highlights and a high, tan, coarse-grained head. Nose is mostly smoke, cinnamon, vanilla and coffee; there might be a slight hint of dark fruit. On the tongue, it’s sweet with low carbonation; vanilla latte, nutmeg, and just a touch of wine. It has layers of spicy complexity that deepen the longer it stays in the mouth; an amazingly long, rich, and multifaceted finish that keeps changing. This brew pours jet black with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily. Patchy lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and oak. Looks like a stout. Aroma of loam, wood, chocolate and a bit of fruit. Grape/wine notes are stronger in the taste but still quite light.
