Canned, from Systembolaget. Completely black with rich beige head. Aroma of treacle and toffee. Sweet with full body and rounded, albeit syrupy mouthfeel. Thick treacle and molasses dominates, notes of metal and oak. Peppery finish withj evident alcohol. Simplistic. Don’t know why I keep trying new SKA beers, when I am constantly underwhelmed by them. Draft at Thirsty Monk during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Pours red brown with a creamy, tan head. Tasty stuff with light smoked malts, burnt sugar, cocoa. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Warming finish with burnt sugars, well toasted bread, chocolate. Nice.

Black color with small sized brownish head. The aroma is mild; there is some roasted malt, ashes, cheese (Brie). Roasted malt flavor, with some coffee; the mouthfeel is smooth and rather dry; the body seems lighter than expected; the grape added a bit of sourness, but not a fruity evidence; the alcohol can be perceived clearly.
Good smooth stout, nothing special.
Canned, from Systembolaget. Label says ABV 7,5. Pitch black beer with a very nice beige head. Roasted cocoa aroma, woody, licorice, grapefruit notes, vanilla, dark bread, coffee, orange peels, some soot, some hazelnuts. Roasted chocolate flavor, cocoa, vinous, grapes, orange peels, coffee, oak, smoked notes, dark bread, raisins, some soot, some licorice. Very smooth and balanced beer. mcberko (18557) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 12, 2013
From a can, pours black with a fairly large light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt predominantly, wood and dark chocolate. Flavour brings out notes of dark chocolate, roasted malts and wood upfront, with little notice of the oak or grape juice, at least until the grape juice shows up on the finish. Very smooth, chocolatey palate, and very well-balanced. Much better than the average ratings would have you believe. Great stuff. Ferris (16270) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 9, 2014
Bottle - Grape and dark malts. Jet black with beige head. Charred malts, burnt coffee and a long finish. To much char for me. bhensonb (15603) - Woodland, California, USA - MAY 22, 2013
Can from LetsPour.com. Pours very dark brown with a dark tan head. Aroma is coffee and chocolate. Med body. Now I get the vinosity - coffee, chocolate and then the grape sort of stirs in all up into a very different taste. Very interesting. It finishes pretty dry, and my mouth thinks its pretty bitter. Maybe thats oak. I wouldn’t say a lot is going on in this, but I am having troubling with my sorting.
