On tap at Fountainhead. Pours jet black with a great looking tan head sitting on top of the brew. Nose is woody, coffee and sweet smoke. Combine well. On tap at the AZ Strong Beer Fest, February 2011. Pours black with a small tan head. The nose is roasted malt, chocolate and red wine grapes. The taste is roast, ashy cocoa, burnt caramel malt and Merlot. Medium mouthfeel. You can definitely taste the merlot influence in this one.

Tap @ Boulder Strong Ale Festival. Deep black appearance with a dark brown head. Roasty chocolate malty nose with the Merlot aroma coming through that. Very roasted dark chocolate malty flavor with the Merlot flavor creating a very complex taste and finish. Roasty finish.
