It’s Old Man Bitter

A mix of citrus and pine that will remind you of the time you went on a vision quest with your Native American cousin and you woke up in a pine grove full of grapefruit trees.

An American-style India Pale Ale with a deep golden-orange color. Bitter and hoppy, with a surprisingly smooth finish.

Modus Hoperandi, an IPA sitting at 6.8% ABV and 65 IBUs.

Clear copper with a two finger off-white head that subsided to minimal slowly. Maintained excellent lacing throughout. The aroma was comprised of malt, pine resin, and hops. The flavor was more of the same. Medium feel on the palate with lots of carbonation.

Pours copper with a thin white head that dissipates quickly to a ring. Minimal lacing. Great piney and citrus hop aroma. Taste is pine, grapefruit, and some caramel. Dry finish. Good beer.

12 oz. can (best by 5-22-12 on the bottom) served in a shaker- poured a very heavily turbid copper color (although freshly pressed apple cider color is MUCH closer in appearance), extremely low carbonation, no head, just a very tiny frog eyes staring back at me. Aroma of ALOT of pine and hard citrus- no caramel detected from the aromas. Hits the mouth with an uneven medium body, malt has some caramel laced but the hops just bash your head in while you’re trying to find it, middle just keeps going, finish is a very hard acidity and lingers. Very good brew, I’m just giddy because number 1000 is coming by the end of the week (about damn time!).

The hops reach out and grab you! Piney - grapefruity taste. Very clean and refreshing. Long grapefruit aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg at Euston Tap, London. A hazy dark golden/amber coloured pour with a small off white head on top. Hoppy, citrus fruit aroma. Tastes hoppy, malty, citrus fruit with definite lemon, some caramel and slight sweetness and bitterness. A really decent American IPA.

Keg at North Bar, Leeds. Pours a hazy Orange, finger of head with decent retention and lacing. Aroma is big, pungent hoppy citrus-ness. Pine too. Taste is very bitter, brash. Some citrus and pine notes but mostly just HOPS. An assault. Medium-thin mouthfeel, nice carbonation, long bitter finish. Good, but too bitter for me to really enjoy.

When I first grabbed this beer it was awesome because at the time IPA/APA’s didn’t really come in cans. Great brew for boating and camping.pours a clear orange brown with 3 fingers of fizzy white head. Nose and taste are a mix of big citrus hops and resiny pine cone hops. This ones all about the hop. Quite tasty
