Real spearmint and peppermint not extract combine with cocoa nibs and vanilla beans to create your reward for making it through winter.

Ancient Greeks tell us (cause we talk to them) that Persephone turned Minthe into a mint plant in a jealous rage, to keep the little nymph away from her man Hades. Jealous rages rarely end well, but if one did result in mint were glad: this is a unique and delicious stout, and we recommend having one while you calm the hell down.

Smells like a yorkshire patty and tastes like one too. Pleasant and not too heavy, quite refreshing really. Normally i like thicker darker stouts then this, but it is really pleasant. Its just a little sweet and the mint is not overwhelming yet VERY present. Glad my beer store had singles, i don't think a whole 6 pack would go too quickly for me but i would buy it again in a single. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Backlog rating. Can shared by Fergus at CBC CW, London. It pours a dark brown color with small beige head. Aroma is sweet dark chocolate, spearmint gum, after eight. Taste is sweet and pretty identical to liquefied after eight, chocolate and mint. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, not a fan

Well the idea of the flavor combo sounds good, i was hoping for a "Girl Scout Thin Mint cookie beer", nope... Aroma is menthol, faint chocolate. vanilla and with toasted malts.. Mouth is medium and slightly creamy. Flavor is about the same as the aroma, peppermint and spearmint combine to a menthol like flavor, not bad but unusual.. Overall it was just o.k., had higher expectations.

Can at the Half Marathon Tasting, May 2015. Dont worry Jay, this one was terrible. Pours a deep brownish body with thin off white lacing. Mouthfeel is thin and watery with notes of earthy roast, dark chocolate malt, tobacco and lots of artificial mint and toothpaste flavor. The mint and roast are both potentially strong flavors on their own, but the balance is off in this one.

Can. Pours deep brown with a beige head. Sweet thin mints, mild roasted malts, slight huskiness, and moderate sweetness. Odd, but kind of enjoyable.

12oz can from Craftshack. Pours black with a small foamy tan head. Aroma of burnt chocolate, roasted malt, and thin mint cookies. Taste of black malts, dark chocolate, toothpaste, and some sourness in the finish.

Can at Jamess with Andy, James, Jay. The can is black with white and gray writing and the woman on the front is white holding a plant lady. Recyclable for 5c. Spicy earthy aroma; light body with peppery notes and curbed heat. Short legs appreciated.

Draft. Ebony, still and dark. No light gets through; hardly any bubbles do, either. A whisper of a cocoa-colored ring. Sourdough bread, toast, dark chocolate, and Andes mints in the nose. Just a bit more chocolate than mint. Clean and in perfect balance. the flavor leads with toast, a hint of tangy sourdough, dark chocolate and sweet mint. Not overly herbal -- more sweet, like toothpaste. Creamy medium body, good heft. A little oily. The mint is noticeable but subtle; a perfect amount. Clean, clear flavors. Like brushing your teeth with a chocolate toothbrush.

Draught. So this is a really minty stout. I would have this with Girl Scout Cookies or ice cream other than that think before you drink.

If you like to dip Peppermint Patties into stout, you will love this. The first couple of sips were novel, but that wore off pretty quickly.
