22 oz. bottle shared by Keir at the STL RB Gathering- thanks again, Keir! 2006 vintage. Pours an almost opaque brown with a small tan head. Aroma of big chocolate notes, dark fruits, roasted malts, and nuts. Just a ton of chocolate in there. Flavor of roasted malts, chocolate, oaky, earthy notes, and coffee roast. Medium-bodied, with low carbonation and a smooth, rich mouthfeel. Has held up great for 5 years, particularly in the nose and appearance. Very nice. seymour (1992) - Maplewood, Missouri, USA - DEC 5, 2011
Sampled at the Saint Louis Ratebeer Gathering into tulip glass. 2006 vintage. Thanks, kier! Poured an opaque dark brown color with weak tan head but fine lace and alcohol legs. True-to-style Imperial Stout aromas and flavors. Dry, fruity, nutty, toasty, very roasty. Hints of black coffee, dark chocolate, plums and wild cherries. Somewhat oxidized in an interesting way, like port, not a flaw. Held up very well to 5 year aging. Recommended. jandd1983 (4276) - Wentzville, Missouri, USA - DEC 4, 2011

Thanks to 5000 for sending me this bottle.
The beer pours a dark brown to black color with a tan head. The aroma is full of roasted malt and chocolate, with the added bonus of having some dark fruit and a little bit of anise mixed in. All of the components go well together.
The flavor is full of milk chocolate and heavily roasted malts. I also get a little bit of alcohol which accentuates the big, bold flavors present in this beer.
Medium to thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. thirdeye11 (6160) - Dallas, Texas, USA - SEP 20, 2011
(22oz bomber thanks to Mora2000) espresso brown pour with very dark tan head and excellent lacing. Nose of fudge, rich chocolate, mildly roasty, milk chocolate, nearly decadent in the nose. Taste is very roasty, nice bittering herbal hops, fudge, well balanced and delicious. daknole (11044) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - APR 9, 2011
