Shared bottle at Nykøbing/Mors camping site where we also bought the bottle. Pours hazy dark amber with dense, long lasting off-white head. Aroma of caramel and some fruity components. Some roasted notes are also noticeable. Tastes sweet, some alcoholic warmth. Karstenborg (1044) - Hasselager, DENMARK - DEC 19, 2015

Bottle. Comes as Skands Den Glade Gibbon at 6.5% abv. It pours amber with a off white head. Ripe fruity and yeasty spicy aroma. The flavor is sweet malty and spicy. It has a light funky off note.

Dark brown of color with a beige head. An aroma of sugar, chocolate, raisins, molasse, candy and weak liqurice. A flavor of molasse, dark sugar, raisins, liqurice, alcohol, malty and leather. DraftDodger (1458) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 16, 2015
Copenhagen 16/8 2015. 50 cl bottle from Irma. Blue monkey on the label to give some kinda explanation of the weird name. Pours hazy dark brown with thick off-white head which diminishes slowly to thin layer of foam. Aroma of malty sweetness, fermented plums and alcohol. Rather soft carbonation. Taste is excessively sweet and sugary. Fermented fruit in the long sweet aftertaste. They say on the label that this beer is "a Belgian inspired beer". In my opinion there is a long way to a decent Bruin from this Plum in Madeira. WillemsUrenkel (1822) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - AUG 1, 2015
0,5 l bottle bought in a danish supermarket. Dark red brown and clear in the glass. Small beige head. Belgian style malty on the nose. Taste is mid sweet and fruity malty, later more malty, with a fruity sweetness and some bitterness. Not really the expected complexity, especially in the aftertaste. Pronounced fruit flavor and thin, but persistent foam. Clear Belgian dubbel with great malt sweetness which also has easy burned notes, and lots of caramel. Dried fruits, such as prune and raisin, forms a fine slightly acidic and fruity balance to the malt. Slightly vinous richness, but the dark malts and the fruit is still in focus throughout. It is an extremely well-brewed Belgian dubbel, which is quite on a par with most Belgian ones. The only thing I do not understand is the name. It’s called Blå Chimpanse because of the link to the famous Trappist beer Chimay Bleu. I can not really taste the connection. The Blå Chimpanse is a delightful and tasty ale, but a Chimay it will never be. Hermod (7696) - Vantaa, FINLAND - JUL 13, 2015
50cl bottle. Dark brown, thin off white head. Bready malty, sweet fruity, earthy aroma. Flavor has sweetness, caramel and light bready notes. Not much Belgian in this beer...
