English: Skands Esrum is Skands Brewery interpretation of a klosteryg. I have used herbs from the monastery’s own herb garden, including juniper, lemon balm, lavender, anise and rosemary, all herbs which the monks used as flavor enhancers. Esrum is a top-fermented and has a lovely dark chestnut brown color, an aromatic fragrance and flavor rounded off with a hint of anise. Esrum is blank filtered. Esrum perfectly suited for heavy meat dishes and winter food, but can also be enjoyed alone in a quiet moment.

Klart mahognifarget med lavt skum. Mye krydder i duften (einer, karve og ingefær. ). Mye krydder også i smaken sammen med litt tørket frukt og honning.

Tap @ Cph with KT Staff club. Appearance: pours clear dark brown with ok soapy beige head and lacing. aroma/taste: bread, caramel, chocolate, thyme, rosemary and lots of other herbs. palette: strong malty and herbal aroma, average carbonation, medium to full body, medium to notable sweetness, somewhat balanced by a medium bitterness, average to long duration and an oily texture. Overall: very nice dark herbal beer.

0.5 bottle. Clear, dark brown color with a medium, tanned head. Aroma of juniper, lemon grass, and other herbs. Taste is malty, sweet, a tad bitter in a herbal manner; anise and ginger feature most prominently here. A medium body, a creamy texture, and a soft carbonation. Finish is medium long, maltier though it still retains the strong herbal character. Overall not a bad beer though it is not very drinkable due to its unique set of strong, herbal traits.

Bottle shared thanks to HenrikSoegaard. Pours clear reddish brown with a ring tan head. Aroma of herbs, spice, aniseed, caramel and buttery notes. Flavour is over moderate sweet and light to light moderate bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Like some strange medicine, appropriate given the funny little bottle.
