3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pint at the Red Lion, Histon. Golden copper with a big white head. Pleasing autumnal aroma: malt, hazelnut, redcurrant, forest floor, hints of toasted marshmallow. Taste is malt-led and bittersweet. The balance fades a bit and leaves a botanical, slightly salty bitter. Palette is a bit watery. Plenty of natural carbonation. This is in perfect condition. Very similar to other Skinners beers such as Betty Stogs - as I remember them anyway - but that’s not such a bad thing. A very good beer and an enjoyable experience.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask conditioned on gravity at The Olde Reinedeer, Banbury. Amber with no head. Pretty standard, malty, caramel, dryish bitter, nothing outstanding, maybe a little fruitiness. It’s beer.
