Coffee notes are very noticeable in the aroma and flavour of this stout. Moderately dry and quite full bodied, with a smooth mouthfeel. Pretty good. Cask (gravity dispense), St Albans Beer Festival.

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - St Albans Beer Festival. A fruity stout aroma to this black beer. The taste is quite sweet and milky. Mellow with good balance. Joeh (2049) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - OCT 2, 2004
Cask Conditioned @ the Saturday session, St Albans Beer Festival 2004. Beer #17. Roasted malt, tobbaco pouch, coffee, roasty . Good. haddonsman (1234) - Derby, Derbyshire, ENGLAND - SEP 9, 2004
Peterborough Festival. Looks like chocolate, tastes like fruit ’n nut, sweetness fights its way into the aroma but doesn’t overwhelm the flavour. One to return to this winter, methinks.

Jet black, with a purple hue. Wonderfully generous aroma that leaps out of the glass. Juicy, liquorice, tart bitter flavours, subtle seductive sweetness that keeps you coming back for more.
Gravity fresh @ Pig's Ear Festival, East London. Very dark purple colour. Beautiful coffee roast nose. Soft coffee and red berry fruit flavour easing into slight fruit acid then finishing both wet and dry. Nice.
