Tower 42 bottleshare on me biffday! Thanks to Paul. Clear brown beer, thin tan head. Palate is smooth and has modest fine carbonation. Nice dark malts, mildly sweet and creamy. There is a mild fruity tang but it’s not bashing you round the head with it as so many porters and stouts do. Light citric hop. Smooth finish. Nicely rounded porter.

September 2016 - Bottle share at One Canada Square. Many thanks to Scopey for this rare Scottish brewery tick. As ’Skinny Pigeon Void Crawler Porter’, 7%, nice branding. Pours opaque black, foamy brown head, dotted lacing. Aroma is creamy dark chocolate, ashy, chocolate liqueur. Body is smooth with tingly carbonation. Taste is chocolate, spicy, earthy berries, some redcurrant. A lovely porter. Nice work. (3.9)

Bottle split at Level 42, thanks to Bropey, 07/09/16. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent tan cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is chocolate, spice, toffee, dark malts, charr, biscuit. Taste comprises tangy dark esters, toffee, dates, spice, chocolate, tangy dark fruit rinds, slight lactic pinch. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a light peppery trace. Decent enough porter.

The taste is rich roasted malt, bitter - sweet, chocolate, coffee grounds, mocha, earthy roast, ashy, liquorice and umami with a dry, roasted finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A pretty solid porter all-round.
