For the price a very good imperial porter. A little to sweet. A little one dimensional in the taste. Mostly chocolate in both taste and aroma. The aroma is a little better than the taste.
Pleasant aroma of chocolate is the first impression of this porter from Skovlyst. It’s a nice frothy porter and it tastes sweet of sugar and a little dark chocolate. Actually it is quite tasty, as chocolate is concerned, but I find it very sweet.
Once Skovlyst brewed beer with direct dedication to the forest, for example beer with fresh beech. I think that Skovlyst in recent times has forgotten the forest and its natural ingredients instead to engage in more questionable beer where quantity wins over quality.
This Porter is ok, but I prefer that a porter has more character in the form of burnt malt, coffee, licorice and chocolate. martin00sr (4041) - Haderslev, DENMARK - NOV 4, 2014
Clear, very dark brown. Small, frothy, beige head. Roasted aroma, jam and berries. Flavour is very sweet - much too sweet actually, totally overpowering the malty and burnt caramel notes. Brewhemia (313) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 17, 2014
I really didn’t like this beer. Way to sweet. I think this is a misunderstood porter. Sorry to say. Aroma of grapes and figs was ok. The taste really awful. niklasdietz (85) - DENMARK - MAR 29, 2014
A little too carbonated and caramel malty for my liking. Fizzes like a coke. However, very drinkable and light for at porter, with som degree of taste of alcohol at first.

Very nice stout. Full and rich in foam, color and taste. I would recommend this to anyone.

Købt i spar, er efter min mening lidt overvurderet i forhold til det der står på labelen, er lidt bitter i efter smagen. StoutHead (965) - DENMARK - NOV 2, 2013
Bottle. Pours black with a small tan head and low carbonation. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. Taste is of roasted malt, chocolate, liquorice and coffee. Not bad, but a bit "safe". Nothing too special.
