Aged the bottle in my cellar. Bought from the brewery. Tastes like oxidized soy sauce. Motor oil with some roastiness. Worst beer I have had recently. Theydon_Bois (19513) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - NOV 17, 2014
Keg at the taproom, 10/11/14.
Black with a decent tan covering that clears to a swirk a swirl and edgeing.
Nose is treacle toffee, hints of burnt sugar, toasted brown sugar, not very dynamic for the abv.
Taste comprises light cocoa, chemical notes, dark toffee fudge, light cocoa, charr.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Way below par for the style, does nothing to justify the ABV. bpreo (2840) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - NOV 16, 2014
Actually it’s up to 10% alcohol now, according to the Brew Pub. Great flavor, strong, but dry. Perfect. Danyel (1606) - Colorado, USA - NOV 3, 2014
Tap at Sky High in Corvallis. Pours black with tan head. Aroma is very strong of chemicals, bleach, cleaner, something nasty about it. Taste is very strong of chemical cleaner, all I can taste is chemicals. Definitely not right. Overall, quite disgusting, I can’t believe they would release a beer like this. Where is the quality control?! Salmoniform (1272) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - SEP 9, 2014
Poured from bottle to glass. Dark hue with creamy brown head. Aroma is chocolate, roast, vanilla, figs, caramel. Mouthfeel is great with a medium body and soft carbonation. Taste is sweet with an astringent bitterness following. Overall this was a decent RIS.

I would encourage anyone who likes a stout to try this beer. My opinion is that this is one of the finest stouts around. This beer is everything I think a stout should be. Appearance is a bit intimidating because it looks so dark and rich but the aroma and flavor are smooth and complex. I experienced vanilla, caramel, chocolate and just enough roast barley to balance everything out. I didn’t note any buttery off flavors at all. boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 7, 2013
Tap @ Sky High... Poured pitch black with a thick, eggy, off-white head. Nose contained an off butterscotch note. Very pronounced and awkward. Total diacetyl bomb. Tasted of salted, buttered popcorn and butterscotch. Some roast, and a mild bitterness to try and redeem itself, but overall I couldn’t get through my full pint of this stuff. Probably rushed, hopefully they’ll dial this in. The Pils and regular IPA from their taster tray were solid. Hoping they can make this RIS as clean as those two beers, troopie (2341) - Munchen an der Willamette, Oregon, USA - JAN 19, 2013
An Imperial Stout should not be ’easy drinking’ like a pale lager and this is not. Black pour with medium beige head. Aroma is molasses and roast malt, almost roast sugar if such a thing exists. Malty flavour with no trace of alcohol. Nutty and malty finish.
