Visual: (Cellared for 3 years). Pours muddy brown-reddish with a very small dissipating head, ringed micro retention, lots of steady streams. Nose: caramel brown sugar, prune/plum. (lvl-5)-pungency Attack: crisp-slick Mid-palate: background light subtle sour, (lvl-6-sweetness), toasted malt, brown sugar, prune/date Finish: cola malty soft sweet finish. Summary: Pretty standard malty dark fruit Belgian ale, good body, good balance, good drinkability - All around good, nothing too spectacular.

Slaapmutske Christmas (Kerstmutske) has a thin, off-white head, a murky, standard brown appearance, tight bubble streams, noticeable tan sediment, and minimal lacing left behind. The aroma is of raisin, plum, spiced brown bread, bread crust, and a yeasty component. Taste is similar, with low bitterness. Mouthfeel is high medium and prickly, and Slaapmutske Christmas finishes semi-dry and fairly rich. RJT

From cervezasespeciales. In Teku glass. Watching Sons of Anarchy 5x12. Dry, with some dark fruits and bit more bitterness than usual in the style. Pleasant.

Gription79 (2892) - Bountiful, Utah, USA - JAN 3, 2016
Poured from a 330ml bottle. Big malty winter warmer. There is a great balance between the Belgian esters and the maltiness.

ForlornHope (537) - Hampshire, ENGLAND - JAN 3, 2016
Bottle at home. Pours a dark red-brown with a small head. Aroma of yeast, rich malt and woodspice. Taste is sweet to start, then a slight bitterness follows. Lots of flavour: rich, sappy malt, red fruits, spice and a slightly port-like, smooth finish. Rich and satisfying, a nice beer to sip by the fireside.

StoutHead (993) - DENMARK - DEC 25, 2015
Bottle. Pours a deep red colour with a small off-white head. Faint fruity aroma. Taste is of malt, caramel, darker fruits & berries, sugar and spices - y’know - everything nice. Sweet with a lightly bitter finish. Very Christmassy and quite Belgian in style. So: not bad.

Nose is fruity sourish spicy, flavor is caramel, floral, spices, biscuit, roasted malt, light red wine. Medium sweet, light bitter, light sour. Finish is medium lasting roasty spicy medium bittersweet. Full body, dry texture, lively carbonation. Easy dessert beer, interesting.

bonkiedeaap (815) - Leerdam, NETHERLANDS - DEC 22, 2015
Bottle from Dranken Verheyen in Poppel. The beer is hazy dark brown with a nice cream colored head and a lot of carbonation. In the aroma firstly the sweetness of caramel is noticable along with hints of cacao and some hints of spices like ginger. The taste is malty with some caramel and yeast notes and is balanced by a nice spicy bitterness with tones of ginger, nutmeg, cloves and pepper. In the finish the alcohol is coming forward and it’s ends with a nice dryness and hoppy bitterness.
