2008-03-07. As Brune. Brown body - chestnut? - with a good sized pillowy off white head. Aroma is a touch muted, dark fruit over sweet malt, very muted sugars. Average palate. Pleasant. Deserves more of a write up but I was a bit distracted looking around Beer Mania. davidpl (435) - Santiago, CHILE - MAR 15, 2008
Bottle at Beer Mania, Brussels
Appearance: amber some copper color. Great head of beige color, rocky, lasting and with good adherence to glass.
Aroma: yeasty, mainly, with butter and vanilla touches. Candy oranges and some slight clove smells. Liquory aroma with reminiscences of old rum.
Flavor: yeasty start, persistent, with butter, banana and sponge-cake reminiscences. Candy from the malts and fruitiness similar to peaches. Very slight spiciness similar to clove and ginger. Some light medicinal hoppiness in the end. Liquory final.
Palate: medium body with silky and semi-oily texture. Low carbonated.
Nice, with a liquory sensation big than the alcoholic degree write in the bottle.

Bottle, 33cl. An unclear, orange-brown beer with some floaties and a dense, beige head. Spiced, sugary nose with roasted malt, and a sweet, sugary and spiced flavor. Rather dry, full-bodied mouthfeel. Caramel, roasted malt and sugary sweetness in the finish. I’m not exactly sure why, but it disappointed me a bit, even though it’s a fine beer. Bottle at the Manchester Winter Ales Festival. I like this as I have everything else I’ve had by them. Cloudy brown, slightly spicy, too drunk too rate this properly. Just the numbers. reakt (950) - Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 13, 2008
