COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Initial Point is a landmark in the great state of Idaho. Selected in 1867 by LaFayette Cartee, this site was used to survey all other cities and landmarks in the state. Slanted Rock’s American style IPA is a medium intensity beer, golden in color with moderately-high bitterness. It is kettle and dry hopped with Cascade for it’s floral and citrus aroma characteristics. Columbus hops upfront provide high bittering and Crystal malts add a caramelize sweetness to the crisp finish.

Can. Pours orange with a white head. Fruity hops and sweet malts, mild bitterness, some marmalade, and a balanced finish. Not bad.

Way too malt-forward for my liking. Heavy-handed amounts of crystal malts result in loads of caramel, dough, and bread notes. Texture is too thick and chalky. Appearance is hazy and rusty orange. Green hop flavors and aromas are nice, with bold notes of grass and citrus, but they’re quickly snuffed out by malt. This is a like a dessert IPA.

From a half growler picked up at Pauls Growler station in McCall Idaho, Pours bright gold with a frothy white head ’Nose is tropical fruit with tangerine, and citrus. Medium body. Flavor is fruit and citrus as well and there is a citrus bitter finish.

Can picked up at the 16th St Albertsons... Pours a slightly hazy light orange with a short-lived white head but still leaves nice lacing... Sweetish sorta tangerine like hoppiness... that is accentuated by a too heavy (for my palate) residual maltiness... good bitterness... Nice enough IPA... No flaws, I just like mine without so much malt balance.

Can: Hazy orange in color, moderate beige head. Nose is floral and sweet, lightly musty. Floral hops flavors, a bit of pine, and some dusty/grainy notes. Good level of bitters. Overall OK.

12oz can pours out a orangeish golden topped with a white head. Nose is sweet malts citrus hops and a little fruit. Taste is as the nose with a good little hop bill.

Meh. Definitely seems to be an entry level IPA. Kinda hoppy...nothing offensive but nothing that stands out. Citrus and pine and bitterness in low levels. Maybe as an introduction to the style.

This is a delicious, well-balanced IPA. It is golden in color, with high bitterness, and a citrusy nose.

Aroma: Sweet, herbal, tangerine-like fruity hops.
Flavor: Tangerine citrus hops; herbal, resinous. Malt sweetness, giving it kind of a fruity candy flavor. Substantial bitterness; a little harsh in the aftertaste.
Thanks for the beer, Dallas

Poured from a 12 ounce can. The hop aroma is herbal, candied, low citrusy fruits. The flavor is more of the herbal and candied hops character, some lemony notes, bready malts. A firm, slightly harsh resinous bitterness in the finish. This may be an oxidized example. Would try again.
