Had this given to me at a function last night. No mas!!! Drank it from the bottle. This thing had virtually no carbonation, smelled like urine, and was almost devoid of any taste resembling beer. Not to mention the watery mouthfeel. Wretched, just bloody wretched. Only good thing was not having to pay for it.

UPDATED: SEP 23, 2009 Bottle. 4%. Weak white foam that fizzes away quickly. Aroma is corn and grains. Taste is watery, grainy, and mild apple sweetness. Mouthfeel is clean and crisp, but there is no flavour to really speak of. I would ask for fruit juice before asking for one of these.

Being a masochist of sorts I’m always fascinated by the "light" beer craze of North America. I never found a "light" beer in Europe, as people were happy to know that their beer tasted like beer. Except in the case of Kriek, but then it tasted like Kriek, and not water. Speaking of which, why haven’t the big commercial brewers tried to market a Kriek-style brew to the same people who might buy a "light" beer? Nonetheless, in my further education of all things related to beer being "light", whatever that may mean at any given time, this stuff pours with a very pale and clear body but still a small layer of head. Faint aroma of murky hops, which was more than I was expecting. Taste is a smooth nothingness with just a vague hint of malt if you tilt your head correctly at the right time. Dry finish, at least. I’m still looking for that "light" beer that’s worth drinking instead of a fine soda water.

Had to rate one from the bottom 50, and this is about as close to the pit I can get - bonus, I didn’t have to pay for it. Courtesy of my mom’s fridge, 355ml can. Pours the palest yellow I’ve ever seen a beer be, you can already detect the lack of anything malt in origin. Aroma is very subtle, light corn notes and fermented sugar is all. Tastes actually quite a bit like mineral water, mineral, light light sweetness. Palate is dry and watery. Not offensive for something pulled from the bottom of the ratings pile, you just have to know you’re drinking beer.

Not bad for a low-carb beer, but just realize you are not drinking a great ale. Pours golden clear with no head, almost flat.

Pours a big fizzy/bubbly head and goes away pretty quick and leaves a small layer. Has a clear straw coloured appearance. Excessive carbonation. Has aromas of wheats and grains. Very grassy and earthy. Flavours are unfortunately quite bland, mainly just grainy malts, grass, corn, very light hops almost non-existant. Very faint sweetness. Has a prickly and heavily carbonated mouthfeel. Light bodied. Most Sleeman are enjoyable but this one’s a disappointment.

Bottle. Ordered this because all but three of the tap lines at The Madison in Toronto were FROZEN in this minus 35 with the windchill weather. Not awful... Flavour is water and light as expected. Not much worse than any other light beer. What's the point really?

A straw colored cardboard- beer flavored soadie pop. Weak in color, taste or true beer character...this is a sodie pop swig fer the kiddies.
