On tap @ the brewery. Clear amber with a head that was just a small ring. Aroma of honey and a bit of malt. Flavor is pretty much all sweet, but not cloying. Thick and syrupy with very mild carbonation. This is heavy on the mead side but the blend of beer helps the drink ability. The honey really stands out and tastes great. shigadeyo (3761) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 10, 2009

6/09/2009: Sleeping Lady English Braggot (Cask) has a golden copper appearance with a frothy beige head. The honey and thick syrupy sweet malt in the aroma makes my wife say, "oh la la!" It has a deep, complex honey flavor with notes of red wine and port. The middle is sweet and malty with sugary caramel and hints of candied citrus. There is just the right amount of alcohol burn through the nose. Wow, this is a really nice - no, GREAT - Braggot!
Sample (cask) at the Snow Goose Restaurant/Sleeping Lady Brewing Company in Anchorage, Alaska. Rating #3 for this beer/mead.
Clear copper color with a thin head. Raw wild honey aromas with bready pale malts. Decent flavor is mostly earthy raw honey, with some light hop bitterness to check some of the sweetness. Not that bad. This version is 12% abv. DarkElf (3066) - La Jolla, California, USA - JAN 20, 2008
18-Jan-08 (Draft: Sleeping Lady Brewing Company in Anchorage, AK) Floral and honey-sweet aromas with peach, white grapes and a bit of dustiness, perhaps from hops though this doesn’t smell hoppy per se. Sweet on the palate as expected, but very fruity and floral with loads of honey and a pleasant sweetbread maltiness. It may show unbridled sweetness, and isn’t balanced by any bitterness, but the beer manages to not seem cloying or sugary. Medium-full in body, augmented by the fruity sweetness, and carbonation is fairly soft. Golden amber in color and slightly hazy. Tall, white head shows solid retention, holding a thin, complete layer and wide ring for the entire session. Some patchy lace is left on the glass. While this brewery does tend to make their beers too sweet, at least here, the sweetness is appropriate, and the beer is very enjoyable.
