Garnet with a slight haze. Slight tingle hop aroma, caramel malts, bit of cookie flavor, very little smokiness. PorterPounder (7884) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - SEP 6, 2004
Had on tap at the Resurection Roadhouse in Seward, Alaska. Dark amber appearance, with frothy, off white bubby head. Toasty, nutty aroma - very sweet. Flavor has some caramelly sweet notes with some candied sugar notes in the back end. Very malty, like a Scottsih Ale should be. Alcohol hidden well. A decent Scottish Ale for a brewpub. Smoooth mouthfeel. Look forward to visiting them later this week in Anchorae, DarkElf (3062) - La Jolla, California, USA - SEP 1, 2004
(Draft: Sleeping Lady Brewing Company in Anchorage, AK) The flavor is, surprise surprise, malty, moderately sweet, lightly roasted, toasty, moderately bitter, with a fairly strong tea character in the finish; Like everything else here, the nose is lightly toasty, malty and sweet; Medium bodied, sweet, and kind of tiring on the palate after awhile; Ruddy brown color; Light tan head fades to a rim plus a small thin island in the center of the glass MrRain00 (37) - Columbus, Indiana, USA - DEC 1, 2002
One of my absolute favorite beers of all times.
