From draft at Snow Goose in Anchorage. Looks like a porter. Minimal head. Mild aroma of chocolate grain. Taste is chocolate malts and sour. Somewhat cloying. Just ok. rondphoto (4445) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - JUN 15, 2015
on tap @ Snow Goose / Anchorage AK --- This review should be taken with a "grain of salt," because I suspect that either the lines weren’t cleaned properly today, or the batch is beginning to turn. I looked over the other reviews and they have a consensus of impressions that don’t sync with mine. For me, taste begins with semi-sweet malt that grows awkwardly into cedar and a bit of dark fruit, then abandons everything by completly shutting out hops in a finish that continually grows sweeter and more woody. Can’t be what the brewer intentioned. BeerBaboon (2093) - FINLAND - MAY 26, 2015

Draft: Poured a deep brown with blackened center and reddish orange tint to the edges. The head was off white to tan color. Aroma was nice chocolate and light coffee. Taste is dark chocolate with soft coffee and roasted malts that is robust at first but drinks rather smooth. I’m sure I could see myself drinking this all day and not worrying with the lower abv. savnac (2391) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - JUN 12, 2012
Growler from LaBodega. Dark reddish brown with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate roasted coffee and caramel. Flavor is rich semi-sweet chocolate, roasty bitterness with no alcohol taste. Medium to full body with a smooth mouth feel. This is a solid porter, lots of chocolate, some roast and goes down easy. BrewDad (5328) - Olympia, Washington, USA - APR 2, 2012
Dark brown in color, clear with a thin tan head. Nice roast and light chocolate aroma. Good flavor with a coffee chocolate balance and decent hops backing. Very tasty brew. Travlr (24755) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JAN 25, 2012
Draft at the source. Almost black, thin tan head. Aroma of brown bread and coffee. Tasty is roasty and toasty. Medium body. A proper porter. troyc (2869) - Illinois, USA - NOV 2, 2011
[Tap] Tried this at the brewpub in mid-September. Pours a very dark brown color with a light brown colored head. Nose is of dark roasted malts, mild mocha notes and a general charred character. The taste is very similar, with some brown sugar, cold coffee and mild anise. Light sweet vanilla bean notes come out as this beer warms. Decent body. A pretty decent brew.
