Light pink amber with a nice frothy, silky head. Easy aroma of light hops and blueberry. Easy blueberry flavor makes this quite an enjoyable fruit beer. Lightly sour finish. A tasty session fruit beer.

I’m a sucker for a good fruit beer and I think blueberry blends particularly well. Recommended.

Bottle. Pours cloudy, amber and slightly blue, (could it be?) with a large off-white head that lasted well. Aroma is heavily blueberries, with caramel malts and some floral hops. Flavor is highly fruity, sweet malts and a tart finish. Medium body and nicely carbonated. A little unbalanced overall but not bad.

Light golden pour with a white head. Really strong blueberry aroma, somewhat fake and sugary, but good. A hint of butter and pancake batter, too. Some syrup, perhaps. The flavor has a strong blueberry syrup note to it. Some pale malt, bread, and dough flavors. A bit of butter and sweet sugar. Pretty decent, actually.

Poured a hazy yellow/gold with a thin white head. Aroma chock full of sweet blueberries. Blueberry dominated the flavor, with a light malt and faint hop aftertaste. Moderately carbonated (fizzy on the tongue) and moderate mouthfeel. Less blueberry and more of other flavors would make this more appealing to me.

BückDich (5464) - McCall, Idaho, USA - NOV 28, 2006
Bottle: Amber color, average head. Nose of light malt and some faint dry blueberry notes, almost like boysenberry. The flavor is like those little dehidrated blueberries in the instant pancake mixes. Thin, dry, so-so. I could use a bit more intensity (dry berrying?) and body. Fun though.

Draft at SLO. Nose of tons of blueberries. Clear amber with a medium white head. Flavor is blueberries and grainy wheat.

I’ve been on a fruit beer kick lately so I picked this up. If it didn’t say blueberry in the name, I would have thought this was an okay amber. Zero blueberry in aroma or flavor for me, but it was still a smooth, drinkable beer. Lots of malt, semi sweet.

Had at the new Santa Barbara Downtown brewing co.,which took over Slo brewing. This beer had an unnoticeable aroma.Color typical amber beer color. The taste was quite surprising at first. It had a subtle blueberry taste, which didn’t overpower the beer.I think what ruined this beer for me is they used a too heavy of a bodied beer. The beer taste was too strong for the blueberry taste.I think a good pale ale would be a better match for this blueberry beer. Not bad though, just could have been much better.Nice concept. Will probably drink again.
