(Nitro Draft: 2004 Strong Ale Festival, Pizza Port in Carlsbad, CA. Day 1, Beer 7) The flavor is very sweet, perhaps too sweet, dark roasted, moderate coffee, and fairly bitter. Moderate alcohol presence. Medium body for an Imperial Stout, but still fairly full mouthfeel. The sweetness sticks on the palate for ages. Dark roasted, coffee nose with a fairly sweet aroma in the background. Nearly jet black in color. Pours a good size tan head after the cascading ceases, and retains that level fairly well. Leaves fairly dense lacing, not bad for well used festival glass. elnadeau (786) - Laguna Niguel, California, USA - DEC 5, 2004
On tap at Pizza Port 8th Strong Ale Festival. Black color, decent tan head, coffee/cocoa aroma. A very well done IS, full mouthfeel, complex with coffee and chocolate, hops contributing. Good stuff. Odeed (1803) - Bakersfield, California, USA - OCT 17, 2004
