Pitch black, foamy head.. A complex but pleasant smell..oaky, coffee, chocolate, the taste is also along those lines. Full bodied rather easy to drink.. Love it.. Furseth (2161) - Kungälv, SWEDEN - APR 19, 2013
Sample from bottle at ÖWGBG-2013: Hazy dark red colour, with a thin brown head. Aroma had aloys of woody, whisky "nose",sweet maltynes, and vanilla!! and fruits. Flavor had a smouth mouth feeling of caramelly, vanilla, wooody, and a nice alcy finish, complexity is the Word for this beer. Big body and a long woody/fruity finish. Nydelig duft av kaffe, bek, lakris og sjokolade. Dyp mørk farge, nesten sort. Lite skum, noe langs kant. Nydelig smak av kaffe, bek, lakris og mørk sjokolade med en litt spiss ettersmak. Kjempegodt. Svesse (8601) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - OCT 28, 2012

Kolsvart med litet ljusbrunt skum. Doftar ekfatslagring, whisky och vanilj! Mycket whisky och lite kaffe och choklad i smaken. Ganska besk och lite alkoholsmak. Lite blaskig för en imperialstout. Riktigt bra öl! beer_est_deus (1300) - örebro, SWEDEN - JUN 21, 2013

Nice slightly brown creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly rich and sweet, dark malts, mild bourbon, licorice, dark sugar, coffee, dark fruits, oak, cocoa. Taste is rich and slightly sweet, dark malts, licorice, dark sugar, oak, coffee, cocoa, mild bourbon, grass, hay. Medium to longlasting bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel. Very nice.
The smell is of oak, tar and strong alcohol. The taste is really good. Coffee, dark chocolate with a good bitterness. Not too dry. Just right. Bitterness in the aftertaste lies down on top of the tongue for a long time. Much like a Cappochino can be said about the aftertaste. I liked this a lot.
