@ KBF 2006. Dark brown coloured beer with dark beige head. Lots of spices, coffee, chocolate and roasty aromas. The flavour is filled of roastyness, coffee with notes of chocolate. Keeps working on the palate even long after I finished the beer. Quality brew but to my meaning not Stouty enough.

Aroma is very roasty with lots of chocolate and medium coffee notes. Pours a dark hazy brown and settles a ruby tinted dark brown with a diminishing thumb thick tan head. Fore is extremely bitter and burnt like overbrewed black esspresso. Mild chocolate notes and hints of darker fruit, but the bitter riast/burnt elelments are by far the dominant flavor elelment and that makes for narrow range. The body is also very thin for the style as I am used to it in America.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2006 Bottle. Light brown, rather thick head. Slightly hazy ruby colour (held against a lamp). Aroma of coffee, chocolate & overriped bananas. Roasty flavour with hints of alcohol. Long duration with a salty finish. Full body, low carbonation. yngwie (17233) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAY 14, 2006
UPDATED: APR 2, 2010 Bottled. Dark, almost black, with a beige to brown head. Lightly roasted aroma with coffee and bitterness. The flavor has coffee, chocolate, some roastiness, and hops. Medium to full body. Nice, balanced imperial stout. Rating: 8-4-8-4-15-3.9. 060428

Bottle. It pours a dark brown, clear body with a beige head. Cocoa, roasted malts, some sugars and a weak touch of sourness and meat in the aroma. It is full-bodied and mostly dry, with some warmth from the alcohol, some sweetness, chocolate and a little meat touch. A rather special imperial stout, low on both chocolate and coffee, and also low on hops and bitterness. Still, it is really good. Rating: 7-4-8-4-16-3.9. 080926henrikb (1264) - Aarhus, DENMARK - MAY 13, 2006

UPDATED: JUN 8, 2006 Tasted blind at Sk8vikings amazing Porter/Stout tasting - Black body with a big bubbled head; Very big nose, mostly of dry and fresh grain, some fresh cane sugar; Very sugary, soft velvety body with a huge carbonation, very pleasant; Pleasant very long a bit sharp finish, first very soft, later quite sharp, aroma in finish hard to take apart, warm oatmeal mixed with soft licorice, Leaves the lips quite sugary, great balance between nose and body- - - - - - - - (6-3-7-4-15)Very dark brown body, light brown head, fast away, no laces; medium sized nose with a lot of alcohol in it: bitter English licorice, but also some plum (that is more like eau de vie prune sauvage, because the high alcohol); very full body that lacks depth and complexity, ordinary carbonation and texture; quite long bitter and a bit salty finish, it looses its strength very fast, again some licorice, but mostly alcohol and malt. Goos but a bit to 1-dimensional. gunnfryd (15256) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAY 9, 2006
Bottle. Black with light brown head.Roasted caramel aroma. Flavour is roasted caramel and coffee. arjoseph (642) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 16, 2006
Bottle into tulip glass, The Friday imperial stout tasting, summer 2005. Second beer of the night. Looks kind of dead and unappealing, not much head or action. Caramel on the nose, with a bit of banana. The flavor is also banana and pale coffee, and a malty flavor reminiscent of dirty laundry. Carbonation is prickly but not overdone. A soft sweetness slides over the dominant flavors, and the alcohol is noticeable but not detracting. Solid, not great.
