rlgk (18850) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - FEB 7, 2006
AMber with a nice offwhite head. Malty, milky aroma with some nuts. Flavor is malty and nutty as well, some fruity notes, a bit too thin to be really good, but its still a nice beer.
Earlier Rating: 11/4/2003 Total Score: 3.5
Nice amber color, not much head. Aroma is dark chocolate, some cocoa and brown sugar. Has a sweet flravor that turns into some bitterness. Has a nice palate and is a very good beer.

sayravai (4710) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 1, 2006
UPDATED: FEB 7, 2006 (Bottled) Clear, dark amber color with a very small head. Dried-fruity, caramely, sweetish-malty aroma. Sourish, a bit vineous, caramely-malty flavor with some Scotch feel. Medium-bodied, quite low-carbonated, slicky palate. A nicely, smoothly caramely brew, but could be fuller in body. I’d place it somewhere between English and Scotch ales, although the brewer calls it a Münchener. ("Slottskällans Wien", May 1, 2004, was 5-4-6-3-13=3.1) Nice, dark red color with a small head. The aroma is malty with a hint of pine - and both sweet and dry. Dry, roasted-malty flavor with a bitter finish. Medium-bodied, oily and dry palate with balanced carbonation. Not bad.

stouby (4670) - Holbæk, DENMARK - JAN 7, 2006
Bottle, at No. 5 (030408). Amber with no head. Aroma moderate malty and hoppy. Flavor moderate sweet and bitter/sour.

TBone (17676) - Pori, FINLAND - OCT 30, 2005
Bottled
Clear copper brown, small white head. Flowery hoppy with sweetish diacetyl-like toffee hints. Quite light with butterscotch, grassy - notes (diacetyl? I’m not sure, not used to find it in Slottskällans, maybe just too caramelly). Drinkable but too sweet.

Papsoe (25062) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 12, 2005
UPDATED: SEP 13, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) Comes as "Slottskällans München". Reddish brown almost without any head. Notes of caramel and roasted malt. Soft, only vaguely bitter and a bit too carbonated. But overall an OK brew. 060203

rauchbier (3899) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - JUN 20, 2004
Bottle, DBF 2004. Hazy red, moderate off white head and low condition. Sweet grain with hints of crystal malt and a faint melanoidin note in the nose. Good malty grain, delicate roasty toastiness and toffee in the mouth. Toffee sweet and gently bitter in the finish.

3.2
Jeppe (2631) - Brooklyn, Alabama, USA - MAY 4, 2004
Expired 20-09-03. Pours a medium off-white head on a brown/red body. Aroma is mainly of roasted malt with some coffee-like notes in the background. Flavor is bitter and spicy. Notes of malt, spices, coffee, bitter chocolate, hops and herbs. A different but quite nice and flavorfull beer.

3.4
ante (3373) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - AUG 28, 2003
Nice ruby-brown color, avarage white head. Sweet aroma of caramel and chocolate with some burnt notes. Flavour is dry and bready with malty notes of coffee, apples and chocolate. Medium body. Finishes a little bit too sweet with some chemical notes of iron. Also some hoppy notes to keep up balance.

3.8
Boystout (1000) - Chisinau, MOLDOVA - AUG 25, 2003
Brown color, medium head and body. Aroma of caramel, weak coffee and something bitter (farmaceutic or herbal). Malty, caramelly, a bit roasty flavors with strong hoppy bitterness (quite unusual). Superb.

rickgordon (3878) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 15, 2003
Red/Brown body with a vanishing head. Carmel and roasted malts along with some chocolate in the aroma. Sweet and malty flavor, also a very very mild palate. Quite fine bitterness.
